cyclops lighting issue resolved DEVS LOOK HERE!
so the issue with the cyclops frost lighting has been an issue we have all been suffering and being plagued with. today in stable i have found a work around to remove the fog/glare effect it causes on the front bubble of the sub.
as we all know. when we activate the exterior lights they create an obnoxious amount of glare that makes not using them easier. today i will show u how to workaround it till the devs patch it. and also, im hoping this will give the developers insight on what is causing this issue, and how to fix it.

step one: board the cyclops.
step two: access helm controls
step three: while ship engine is powered activate the exterior lights
step four: shut down the engines
step five: exit the cyclops momentarily thru the dive room.
step six: swim into the light cones(this may not be neccessary)
step seven: board the cyclops agian.
step eight: return to the bridge and notice the light cones are gone.
step nine: power the engines and continue journeying.
note: while u are piloting even if u disengage the lights and re-engage them the light cone wont reappear.

im not sure if this is a permanent fix as per game session goes. you porbably will have to repeat it each time you play. maybe even anytime that u leave the cyclops and come back, i dont know. this is the second time i have gotten this to happen. and decided i would share this here on the forums.
ill post if it needs to be done everytime u leave the ship.

devs the bug report and feedback notes section was too small to post this so hopefully u guys see this.

We all? Speak for themselves my exp mode game has only ever suffered from fps drops and graphical glitchs.

considering its an issue a developer has been talking about yes. and for those of u that have awesome graphics cards great for you. then obviously in this case this situation doesnt apply to you.

Yes, this is really the best way to report bugs. If you can recreate the bug and then describe how to get past it then it gets fixed that much faster. And the more detail, the better. Thanks for this post, cswheele.

Does this cause the light beams to be invisible from both inside and outside the ship? Really the problem is the opposite of the Seamoth headlights (which are always invisible, so they work great for illumination from within, but can't help you find your sub from the outside). The light effect should actually remain visible outside the Cyclops for this reason, ideally, and only be invisible when viewed through the observation dome.

they are visible still outside of the ship just no longer on the interior. and after testing and poppin in and out of my base. the cones dont return during the same session on the same file. obviously steps must be repeated again when loading but. :)

I'm not necroing the thread,
But.

Hi cswheele,
The work around that you have put up does indeed work, been having this issue since i created the Cyclops Submarine, saw this today and have just tried this method with which it does Work,
Just thought i'd say so it gets more exposure.

thanks for the tip. The Cyclop's lights are absolutely useless as they are. I relied only on my cameras to see where I was going at nights.
