Can the cyclops get to the disease research facility?
I have the prawn suit but the disease research facility is 800m below and the prawn suit can easly get stuck down there and never to be used again. All I'm asking is can the cyclops fit down there and not get stuck by the terrain?

Isn't that in the fortress. No cyclops won't fit there. You can swim thought much easier than using prawn suit. Temp damage isn't that much.

No, the disease research facility is in the lost river. You're thinking of the primary containment facility.

If you want the latest updates switch to experimental. The stable version hasn't been updated this month yet.

If you do not already know where it is, or just want a good visual reminder on replays.

Build a base thermal plant... Because that's the com relay trigger for the lifepod 2 signal. Which is right near where I enter to reach those areas from usually (and that lifepod also has the cyclops mk1 hull upgrade).

Oh good info. So that's why I got lifepod 2 signal so late in the game.

It's a design trend so strange, even one of the devs on this board thought it was strange when I brought up that's how it works.

Other big deal standouts off the top of my head are-

Mobile vehichle bay: crafting it triggers lifepod 19, which is under floater island. (Which means if you are waiting on crafting it, until you "Know" where something that far away is... welp!)

Bio reactor: crafting one of these things many people never need, gives you the signal for the lifepod that is your closest access to the repulsion gun upgrade. kind of a big deal.

Meanwhile, the very few exploration triggered lifepod signals are either redundant, or frivolous.

At the very least, if those com signals triggered by UNLOCKING blueprints, rather than building stuff you may not even need, it would smooth things out a lot for people wondering why their explorations aren't paying off.

or trying to not metagame and wait until the game tells them about a place before using their foreknowledge to swim to floater island as soon as they start the game. Which was the lead in for me realizing the current situation. "Man, I've been seagliding everywhere within 500m of the lifepod, repaired the auora, watched the sunbeam get shot down, when the hell is the game telling me about floater island so I can finally have a reason to build a seamoth-oh...."
