Floating Island Reaper Leviathan?
I remember watching a Markiplier Subnautica video awhile back where he saw a Reaper Leviathan near the SW floating island. Everything I'm seeing online says they aren't supposed to spawn in that area though. Was this just a bug, and is it patched now?

This game terrifies me but I still want to play it. So I just use a map and know where the Reapers spawn to help me with my fears (I'm still scared as all hell, even going into the Blood Kelp Trench).

I never saw Reapers close to Floating Islands, so maybe that was just a bug. How do you use map?

When Makiplier started playing Subnautica, "Floating island" was "Hidden island", there were no leads there, and no content on it, wouldn't it make sense to hide it behind Reaper too, for a good measure.
Now, all reapers were moved from early story routes, All pods, Aurora and both Islands have reaper free routes directly from safe shallows.

Really? Because I nearly had a face-first encounter with a Reaper near the Aurora the other day. I was confused then too, because I thought Reapers were more toward the front, back, and opposite side of the Aurora, but I ran into it trying to get to the usual Aurora entry point. It didn't attack me though, so maybe it was a bug? I wasn't gonna linger to see if Sammy approved of my approach.

There are reapers behind and in front of the Aurora, as well as one that spawns at lifepod 4 (which is often bugged).

The area behind the ship is still part of the shallows, there are two reapers that patrol there.

Shallows are not inherently reaper free.

Tight sqeeze in some places. There's always one reaper below the entrance to Aurora and it might roam a little, but I never seen him near pod 4, or close enough to surface, to block the entrance. Similarly, there is one close to Sunbeam landing, right behind the canon, but it does not prevent you from accessing the beach, you won't even see him, unless you decide to explore canon underwater.

I meant starting shallows, specifically. From any possible pod 5 position there's reaper free, straight line to any other signal you get early game. At least, I didn't run in any reapers that way.

Markiplier spawned it in with the console. It wasn't there naturally.

Oh right, before it was even complete.

The Dunes Crash site and The Mountain biomes are where they are the most common.. each having several Reapers patrolling the area.. There is one directly behind the Aurora near the surface so stay well away from that area..
There are also Reapers near the front of the Aurora but they hang out faily deep below it so you shouldn't have a problem getting inside the Aurora if you stay really close to the surface (I couldn't even see them when I went inside)

There are no Reapers around the Floating Island.. in fact far from it.. there is one near the mountain island though but to my knowledge he patrols the easternside of it.. and doesn't come near the gun base itself.

There's one near the northwest corner of the mountain island if you stick to the wall you should see it pretty far down there. First one I had seen at the time, and nearly had an anxiety attack.

he spawns a few in one episode near the floating island (22 or 23 i think)
!!!Spoiler!!! (I think)

The Island which doesn't have any of the Multipurpose room scannable buildings, on the front side of that one has one on the frontside. So be careful adventuring over there. I learned the hard way, Lucky for me I had my Cyclops, which could take a pouding long enough for me to get away and manage to safely repair. Although, It was abit scary due to the fact that I literally couldn't see anything.

i was just remembering back in the days of beta testing this game there was going to be a trigger with the recorded message saying to meet on the floating island cuz it was nearest land. there was another pda you read on the land and it was going to spawn a reaper under the island cuz it mentioned reaper in the water dont go in. then que reaper. but ive never actually got it to spawn then markiplier did that video. was just thinking about it and wondered if anyone else actually got it to spawn. so either it was an idea that was scrapped when game released or markiplier made it up for funsies.
