Cyclops Sonar upgrade
Maybe it's just me, but it seems like the sonar module for the CYclops is of questionable utility. It eats up energy when its on for not a lot of information in return.

Maybe it needs something like the seaglide terrain mapping that does not use energy?

That honestly feels more like something that should be baseline for the Cyclops, given its bulk.

Showing creatures and/or widening the range would help quite a bit.

Maybe save the power hog feature for scanner room detects, the one base component I'd most want to be mobile on my mobile base.

Yeah, that would be nice to have on the Cyclops.

Are you playing on Stable or experimental? The power drain on sonar was reduced quite a bit a few days ago.

I'm on Stable and having sonar on seems to drain 1% of my Cyclops energy with every two pings or so using standard power cells.

Probably reduced in experimental.

Speaking of the Cyclops sonar, it's not working for me. I click the button and nothing happens. I've already submitted a bug report about it.

It only maps terrain, so if you are in open ocean you won't see anything.

Though it's weird that the sonar doesn't highlight wrecks or your bases, considering how sonar actually works.

Assuming it's working right, you'll see a wire-mesh of the terrain and it'll happen twice.

Not sure what more I can say beyond that; if it's not working for you sounds like you ran into a bug of some sort

It's definitely a bug, I've used the sonar before, it's not working.
