The chance of finding gold in sandstone should be greatly reduced.
Sandstone is hard enoug to track down as it is. So when I need silver, the last thing I want is to pop one open and find more gold than I'll ever likely use. Gold already has 2 other sources: basalt and shael. Silver just has sandstone. I think the ratio of silver to gold should be 9 to 1 in favor of silver, when it comes to breaking sandstone.

Yeah I agree. It would also be a higher tier item which would produce a risk-reward of either going deeper or dangers to get better technology. Say if this should indeed take place however, what material would replace gold? Lead maybe?

No, the game dosen't need to be any easier!

It's not easy already.
This is just a little inconvinient thing that we have on our hands.

Silver is like twice more important and useful than Gold is. Also - gold is a much rarer resource realistically speaking as far as i'm concerned.
Yet sandstones seems to have 60-70% chance to drop gold and 40-30% to drop silver. Which is just annoying.

My game is literally stocked up on gold, yet silver is a resource that i just have no rights to pass by because its the most important thing for building electronics.

I never in my life would have ever thought I'd say this but yeah no more gold please :)

Remember guys, this is an Alien world! For all you know it could be seriously rich in gold deposit and Silver being a more rare resource upon everything else, making surviving harder in terms of gathering what you need to build whatever you want!.

But to be COMPLETELY honest, I prefer to have gold deduced from the Sandstone entirely because yea, as pointed out before there are already two more deposit's where you can it them from.

Or we could add silver into more deposite than one.

Sandstone is probably the rarest deposit and also it only spawns near damn kelp forests making it the only natural non-organic resource that you can't find anywhere else.
Which sucks.

Yea, I agree that it's quite a hassle, but the scanner room DOES help a little bit in differentiating between sandstone and limestone outcrops. Makes the grind slightly more tolerable.

Only first you have to build it the area where sandstone exists at all and just put like 4 range upgrades on it.
I still not 100% how that thing works and if the drones do anything useful at all but oh boy does it suck without the upgrades.

Also stalkers are trying to eat those robots which compromises the operations

Then just increase the silver requirements for crafting recipes. Making gold more rare by % is alot easier than creating more crafting recipes or materials/tools that require gold.

How so? All you'd need to do is add Gold to blueprints that didn't need it before.

That line of reasoning would require the other recipes actually making sense. Which they kind of don't. You could easily add gold to any electronics blueprint.
