Stacking multi-purpose rooms?
Is it possible to stack these and connect them with a ladder? Because when I try to build one on top of another, it doesn't let me. I tried building a sequence of tubes out to the side, up, and then back around so that a multi-purpose room was on top of another but still couldn't connect it with a ladder. What am I doing wrong?

I'm pretty sure you have to stack them empty. If there's already things built inside I don't think they'll stack.

Yep, that seems to have been the problem. Which is pretty terrible though and really makes no sense. I've got about a dozen storage containers and wanted to expand upwards to make more room but now I can't. And the process of deleting all those lockers and moving the materials around is going to be a major pain. Seems like more of a bug or oversight that needs fixing IMO.

I could add a multipurpose room over my main room even if there was stuff in it... I removed it since then because I didn't have much space to put a ladder, but I could do it. Try to do it from the inside looking upward, maybe?

You should be able to biuld ontop regardless. It may just be a new bug from a few other fixes done with the cielings of buildings. I know I've expanded my base upwards after having stuff built inside it.

I just tried it on a couple of other multi-purpose rooms that had stuff in them and indeed it did work. I didn't have anywhere near as much stuff in them though. Odd.

Had the same issue and figured out that you dant have something attacked on the walls like lockers or batterie charger.

The problem I had with doing this... For each level I made, I had a corridor built on the side, then a hatch on top to get up on that. Standing on top the hatch, I had to be exact with aiming at the top of the first Multip-Purpose room to be able to place the second on on top of the first. I made a ladder from on room to the next to place a corridor on the second level (tricky to do from inside). To build corridor outside while inside the room, I first stood away from wall to make sure the corridor is facing the right direction to attach to Room. Then move close to wall until you see green around edge and green stairs on floor and Left Click, then back up enough to continue building it by holding Left button pointed at the stairs. It took me a long time to build my tower that reached the height of the top of the Araura.

Well, this certainly seems to still be a thing. And since all of my storage is wall lockers ... let's just say Chucky's workaround isn't going to be pretty for me. :steamsalty:

@dalagga thanks for talking about the lockers glitch, i wouldnt have thought of it because tbh, it doesnt make sense. the lockers arent in the way of the ladder location what so ever, yet you have to delete them to do so. :steamfacepalm:

Actually, I think this bug was fixed because the problem I was having is that it wouldn't let me stack large rooms if the lower room had any objects in it. I started a new game a few weeks ago and haven't had any problems so I assume it got patched.
