From the entrance to the cave, go roughly straight and stay close to the ceiling. There will be multiple Crabsquids in the area so once you hear a lot of chirping then you should be in the right area. But keep in mind Crabsquids hate light so they might come after you. They almost destroyed my seamoth AFTER I had it parked somewhere and went inside the seabase so if you have a Seamoth then make sure you park it somewhere the Crabsquids can't get to before proceeding to the seabase.
Good luck.
EDIT: I should add that the seabase itself is up high near the top of the cave on a natural pillar of rock. It can be hard to see sometimes.
The abandoned base is in the DEEP Grand Reef. Its a slightly deeper area that has a green tinge to the area. There are 2 entrances. One is near a large wreck at around 350ish meters???
FML....temporary dyslexia strikes again -____-
not sure if it was in the mushroom cave or the flooting island where you find the pda.
