The struggle for water is real
So recently i got that stupid idea into my head that i should totally build a base where the Lost River and Active Lava Zone connect behind the Cove Tree

As i started thinking my options i ran into one huge issue: water supply.

1) Filtered Water from Blubberfish is not available due to lack of Blubberfish in deeper regions. Also only 20 water is not enough.

2) Disenfected water cannot be made around here because even if you can find salt - i doubt that you can find common corral around

3) Stillsuit (The one that reclaims water) is inferior to Reinforced Suit because creatures around there deal some amazing damage and also you really need that increased heat-protection as well

4) Water filtration machine is the only viable option that i see BUT i still didn't managed to find it (and i believe i found literally everything else but just this thing) and also i will have to make a proper energy supply first or my base is going to have no power ever.

So far my only option is to stock up on disenfected water like a maniac - JUST PUT EVERYWHERE, INTO LOCKERS INTO (AND UNDER) MY BED, FILL AQUAIRUM WITH IT, HAVE LIKE 10 BOTTLES ON YOU AT ALL TIMES, AAAHHH

*Sounds of insanity as the lonely human stock piles water bottles everywhere he can

But seriously though - we need more possible water sources because so far i cannot see an efficient way to quickly make runs back to safe shallows for water supply when i'll realize that i have just 1 bottle of disenfected water left

A few players recommend farming marblemelons, as those have high water content, effectively doubling as food AND water portions. You can grab some on the floating island.
Some even go as far as putting growbed for melons into their Cyclops for long trips.

I don't know how well that works, since I play on Freedom, not Survival, but perhaps you could try it.

Marblemelons are amazing because of that, but they still provide not enough and you can't eat only them exclusively - eating too much of the same food causes you to throw up and lose some food and water instead

I usually take a spread of plants for survival needs never really have an issue going deep. A good combo for water is marblemelon + that one tree that you cut (can't remember the name right now lol). I also have a lanturn tree and potatoes in case i need to top off 1 or the other.

In any other case you could simply find the giant fishtank excuse me... alien containment. And only fill it with bladderfish.

Well, they should at least stave off the water problem. And you could probably eat a cooked fish once in a while to circumvent the same food limit...
But I'm very glad I didn't start playing on Survival. Looks like a constant pain in the ass.

Its sure is, the water goes down like 1% per 5-10 seconds.
But the anxiety and struggle is half the fun in this game, i suppose.

I agree that melons are super important and useful, but with regards to water, bulbo trees are more important. Bulbo trees have more water than food, while melons have more food than water. This makes Bulbo trees important for water.

Then, you only need water for extended trips.

If you want to know where the water extactor is...

It's in the jellyshroom Degasi base

I know where it is, but i found the info AFTER i've been there and somehow i managed to miss it. Perhaps it didn't load or i'm a blind idiot...

Also Bulbo trees?
I've heard of them before but i'm yet to realize what those are...
Gotta go back to the Floating Island i guess, make some exploration of local flora.

Bulbo trees will solve your problem, put some in grow beds or pot plants. i havent made water in a long time from fish.

Reading is not your strong suit, is it, gogglehead.

Anyway, on topic...

The tree on the right in this shot is the bulbo tree. You cut part off with your knife and chow down on it. It's +3 food +10 water.

Ah, the one that looks like alien insects will start crawling out of its' holes at any moment...
Yeah. Alright. I cant work with that.
Not the best option but everything goes at this point.
All better than spending 30 minutes in search of insane amounts of salt to create like 30 disenfected bottles.

As I remember it, the base is really tiny, and it's easy to miss that second room. You have to swim through the ladders, as you can't climb them, but you CAN swim through the holes. I didn't know this at first, since that's not how it works in your own base--even when flooeded, you have to climb them by clicking them (unless it has changed recently).

That is confusing. I honestly feel like it should be more consistent, but it's not.
