Gel Sack Spores?

So I just found Gel Sacks after a LONG time of searching because of the lack of videos/tutorials on where to find them, but anyways, I got 4 and I needed 2 to make the P.R.A.W.N. Suit and with the remaining 2 I harvested gel sack spores. I thought these would allow me to grow some in my Growbed, but it wont let me place them inside it. Any tips on how to use them/plant them? I'm pretty new to the game, this is my first time dealing with these gel sacks.

You need to build an exterior grow bed outside your base. Then you can grow those, mushrooms, vines, anything else that naturally grows in the water.

Are you trying to plant them in an indoor growbed? Because they're aquatic, they need a exterior growbed.

at the side of aurora...there's a crack on the ocean floor(sandbank) there have some gel sacks.

and at the lost river... a lot of gel sacks.

Note to anyone who may be coming across this thread looking for gel sacks. There are no longer any in the crack next to the Aurora, as best as I and others can tell. However, you can definitely find them in the Mushroom Forest biome, in particular in and around the roots of the largest tree in the area. They are relatively scarce and it took me a while of searching to find only about 5.

In that same biome you can also find Cyclops hull fragments.
