They are NOT lazy.
just needed to know
You could have searched and found this in a few seconds.
2: It's a singleplayer game. However they didn't completely rule out coop or real multiplayer after the game is released, but they are currently not working on it. I'd say it's unlikely it will have multiplayer. It's a singleplayer game, live with it.
3. I don't know about that
4. I don't think there are any precursors left on this planet
They aren't lazy, those are gameplay decisions. Not every game needs guns and multiplayer. I think the game is really great the way it is. They push out one major content update every month, it's early access done right, unlike some of the other survival EA games which are still almost the same like years ago.
Considering the smooth and constant output based on thier scedule, these guys are one of (if not the) best run small indies I have had the pleasure of following development, yes there are a few things that may have to be fit in somehow or we will see in the polish phase (optimasition). As for the first 2 points, its not part of this games philosophy as far I have read perhaps at the end or via a mods later on( if that gets supported).
Wow..wow...just wow.....clearly, you have done absolutely no research into the "lore" of the game at all.....but here goes the answers....
1. You are a survivor of a crashed spaceship on an alien, uncharted world. Youbare limited to the use of an abvanced nanite fabricator. There are "weapoms" in the game, just not the "traditional" m60 machine gun or rocket launcher. There is a knife, and a stasis rifle, and energy based grapple/repel gun.
2. There is no multiplayer, because the devs have created a single player, horror/survival/exploration STORY that has a beginning (crash on planet) and an end (rescue from planet) or you can just choose not to end, and stay on the planet forever.
3. No workshop, because the game is still being created, and at this time, and maybe never, they have chosen not to allow it.
4. *SPOILER*
Accourding to the in game lore, that you discover while exploring/surviving on this planet, you find out that the precursors physical bodies have all died to an infectious desease.
As to your question avout are they lazy, if you switch to the experimental branch of the game, or look at the "pinned development thread, especiallh the third link" you will see the game literally gets updated every couple of hours, as the dev team is constantly working on it.
So much sox that the game is only a few months (barring some sort of catastrophic event) from officially releasing the game.
1. It's part of the story to not have weapons (aside from knives)
2. They said they aren't implimenting this.
3. Early development
4. Part of the story.
Check out the wiki if you want more info. I don't wanna spoil anything.
Agreed.
Yes! Devs are really great!
Don't ask about multiplayer or guns (weapons) 30% of threads are about multiplayer and also 30% about guns!
No, no, no we don't get either one of these!
Multiplayer is possible but too late!
If you choose to make a Multiplayer game you build the game around the Multiplayercore! Now it would take around 2 years to implement it bc you can nearly start from scratch!
Every update has ruined the performance more and more.
Not neccessarily true. At least not for everyone. One update, when they first added the XBox One port, had some tweks, that accidentally resulted in better performance for some users, especially those of us on toad sters. Some upadtes have definitely decreased overall performance for most people, like the PRAWN suit update and the Castles and Coffee update. More people reported performance issues with those. This update, the Infection update, actually improved overall performance on my toaster, but did introduce a few new bigs.
But the game has not been optimized overall yrt. Because optimizing on the fly is very difficult for games like this. Update and add more content, optimize. Update again, twek balances, alter mechanincs, add new content. Optimize again. And go back and optimize what you optimized last time again, to work with whta you just added and optimized. It makes more snse to finish the game, add all of the content, tweak all of the mechanics, make all of the balance adjustments, then do a very intensive otpimization of the entire game. And at that point, updated system spec requirements can be determined and posted. My toaster may not be able to run the game when that happens. I knew that when I bought the game 1 1/2 years ago. If that hapens, I will have to choose between updating my rig, building an entirely new one (which I am already working on), or being happy with the hundreds of hours of fun I already got from the game.
This is how game development works, and how Early Access works, The game changes as it is developed, the performance on a huge variety of system comfigurations will change as well. And the Early Access disclaimer very clearly tells you that before you buy. If you want a finished game, with known system requirements that are not likely to change, and performance levels that are stable and reliable... don;t buy Early Access games. Wiat for v1.0 and full release.
I am actually quite pleased with the performance improvements this update brought me on my toaster. The other rig I use, which is a high end system, seems to be running the game better as well. But there is a long way to go on both rigs. Final optimization should make great performance improvements for just about everyone whose rig at least meets whatever minimum requirements are determined to be at that time.
Stickied threads are nice
