Randomized Fragment Spawns !
One of the major problems with the game is replay value is not high, i've started about 10 different games and the process is always the same, go to this spot to get this fragment, that spot for that fragment... it gets tiresome and boring after a while...

BUT, if the game had randomized spawning for the fragments on every new game, now that would make it interesting, obviously with some variables that make sure that things like seamoth and mobile vehicle bay spawn within certain wrecks near the lifepod, same with things further away. So instead of going to the same wreck to get the same stuff, the player would have to hunt around a bit more with no real idea of where anything is, kind of like when you played the game for the first time. Obviously certain things would always stay where they are ( multi purpose room, things on arrora etc etc ) But majority of fragments could be setup to force the player to actually hunt them on every new game.

Anyway, i think it will UP the replay value a whole lot and i dont think it would be very difficult to code. you simply need to set a number of different potential spawn locations to each fragment that you set as random.

I thought they were randomized to a certain extent. You clearly couldn't have cyclops parts in the grassy plains, but in the harder wrecks it is somewhat scattered. I found scanner room pieces in the base on the southern island once and never before. I once got all my engine fragments on the mountain, but last time they were mostly on the aurora. Now the Jellyshroom base is offereing harder to find fragments. I think the real issue is that sometimes it feels like there aren't enough wrecks. Maybe I'm wrong, but going to a wreck and getting a bunch of blueprints instead of maybe just one fragment means you finish that stage quicker and it seems less exciting when you're constantly restarting the game. For the new player this part is very exciting, but on replay it loses it because you don't have that surprise factor and fear of the unknown. I think part of that is to be expected and not a game flaw just a product playing it so much.
I like the idea of randomized wreck / abandoned base / precursor base locations. +1

It kinda does have random fragment generations. The fragments are generated once you start the map. The fragments are usually never in the same place on every map, but they can sometimes be in multiple places. And if you are lucky enough to have the wreck duplication glitch in JUST the right area, getting fragments from that is very rewarding!! ;)

Take the moonpool for example. One save I didn't find it until I got to the Grand Reef wreck, and other maps I found it in the Degasee base in the jellyshroom biome.

Same goes for the Modification station. Some maps I find more in the Grand Reef and sometimes I find at least 2 fragments near the Degasee base.

Some fragments can appear in several wrecks, but they can also appear in several at the same time, and when some of the better blueprints take at least 4 fragments that is a very good thing.

What helps is going to the Aurora first. Get the repair tool, get the Laser Cutter (have to make a trip to the mountain island on your Seaglide for the diamind) and inside the Aurora you are guaranteed to get the Prawn Suit and at least 2 Seamoth fragments. That and a bunch of nutrient blocks, water bottles, med kits and SOMETIMES an engine fragment or 2. Yes. I found TWO Cyclops engine fragments in that first big room before you go down that angled elevator platform before the Seamoth bay. I was very lucky. Made getting the Cyclops SO much easier.

I always reccomend making the Cyclops first since it takes the most materials. If you are smart, gather a bunch of titanium and make a lot of ingots ahead of time like I do!!!

The trouble with making the Prawn suit too early is that ity cant exactly escape with any sort of speed unless you have the grappling hook. So if you make it right away you risk being stranded or having it destroyed because you travel too far trying to farm materials in bulk to get back to your base which probably also doesnt have a moonpool OR a Cyclops to recharge it in!!

The Cyclops provides you full protection, lots of storage potential, and the means to travel deeper and find more fragments.

As for the end game, that might not be coming until AFTER they finish all the locations that the story takes place at. It would not make any sense to add ALL the story quests right now when not all those locations are finished yet. But they are getting CLOSE to doing that!! I cant wait to see what the next stage is!! The current experimental update is amazing!! What they added was truly massive and has me curious!!! We know what it is going to be but it STILL intrigues everyone to see what it will all feel like when its fully built and textured!!!!!

Have some patience buddy!!! Just keep practicing and familiarizing yourself with the map and where to find stuff!! =That will make all the later content a lot easier to deal with!!

i dont call that random. everything is in either one of two places, or 1 of three places... if you want to know where to get something youtube is full of videos showing exactly where to get things and quickly, thats is how predictable the fragment locations are.

wen i say random i mean random... set a bunch of items to randomly spawn over say 10 or 12 wrecks and let the chips fall where they may. the game will be a whole lot more interesting then.
