How to cope with reaper leviathan
Is there a way to kill him or get rid of him? It's awfully bothering to collect stuff behind a spaceship.

You can chase them off with the perimeter defense for the seamoth or the drill arm with the prawn.

Either way they will take off but will likely wind up in another biome to pester you there. They can even wind up in the safe shallows.

First of all, pick your Seaglide over your Seamoth. Reapers like to chase the Seamoth and the Seaglide is almost as fast, anyway.

Second, stay close to cliffs and rock walls. They have trouble grabbing you with their mandibles when you are against a vertical surface.

And third, take advantage of the Reaper's tendency to circle before trying to grab you. Reapers don't like to grab you head-on; they prefer to get you from the side or from behind and in order to do that they try to circle you so that they can watch for an opening.

EDIT: This was posted under the assumption that you don't have any qualms about evading a Reaper when it is nearby. If you absolutely need to get rid of one then there are ways to do that, too, but they are riskier. So decide beforehand whether or not that is really what you want to do.

You could get the Stasis Rifle and shoot it in the face. That's if you're brave enough, though. You could get the Seamoth Perimeter Defence System from the Vehicle Modification Station, though you'll need to venture to the Blood Kelp zones. There's one just between the Grand Reef and the Sea Treader's Path. You could also try to use the PRAWN Drill Arm to drill it to death. You could ram it to death with your Cyclops (I wouldn't recommend this). The last option is to just avoid it.

Ignore him. be tricksy. be a (wannabe)professional seamoth pilot like me. rig for silent running.

That's not how it works.

If you repel a Reaper with the Perimeter Defense, he will retreat to a spot not too far away within relatively close range. He might cross other biomes by doing so, but he will not completely relocate.

In several other biomes you will just find other reapers.

So about getting rid of them: Prawn suit + Claw arm/Drill arm (both are lethal if abused) and Grappler.

Aim for a spot between head and middle body, hookshot yourself to it and keep attacking. Prepare for a rough ride though, as its movement will shake you around a lot - as long as you don't release the grapple it will not get rid of you.

Standard reaper-disposal procedure for me is to freeze it with a stasis rifle, then swim around and behind its head before knifing it to death. Remember to periodically refreeze it with a fully-charged stasis rifle shot and watch your oxygen level. Having a Seamoth nearby for a quick oxygen refill is very useful, but if you don't have one handy, try to fight the reaper in shallow water so you don't have to go far to refill your oxygen.

I suggest you bring multiple knives at 100% durability, as reapers are very, very tough. I like to bring a thermoblade and a diamond-hardened knife.

While you can do what people above have mentioned, do realize that you aren't really meant to "get rid of" leviathan class creatures. Part of the experience of this game is understanding that you are near the bottom of the food chain. If you can manage it, avoidance is the best policy.

This approach has a high chance of getting your Seamoth destroyed and yourself killed.
Plus, it's highly inefficient and a waste of knives.

Freeze one with your stasis rifle, then construct a multipurpose room on top of it.
It disappears.
Or glitches into the worst place possible.
But usually disappears.
99% of the time.

I'm always careful to not finish my multipurpose room when things I like are swimming nearby. RIP green gas pod dude.

Killing him saved the entire population of garryfish though,

Well, so long as the garryfish are alright everything is justified!

Built my first base where he spawns. Got used to him after awhile, we are friends now.. occasionally he sneaks up and gives me a hug, but he forgets his own strength and pops my seamoth like a zit.. better than listening to 50 reef backs screaming all the time always...
