Hmmm... where should I put them? Obviously the moonpool has to remain open.
First build foundations, then rooms, use the steel tubes because you can put two reinforced bulkheads on the walls, you can also build bulkhead doors to add to the strength.
Use Windows sparingly. You can have 8 reinforced wall bits in each MPR....
Perhaps post screen shots of your base and we can offer advice.
The only entrances I have found is the one directly under the floating island, but I could find no entrance that would allow the Cyclops. The crevice by the Wreck cannot be entered because of the glow balls that float up on vines. Is there another entrance around here that the Cyclops can navigate?
I also found a big round cave north of the gun emplacement island (and north of the aurora), but that entrance has some very sharp turns and its also impossible with the Cyclops.
If you have an x,y,z location, to a cave entrance, that would be great. I just need an entrace point, I can probably find my way from there.
Those are both the Grand Reef. It's situated underneath the Floating Island and is signified by the glowing, floating spheres.
This one, I have no idea what you're talking about. The only entrances to the Lost River are through the Grand Reef, the Blood Kelp, and a rear entrance through the ILZ Corridor that connects to the Crash Zone. The latter I thought might have been what you're talking about here (because it is indeed west from the Mountain Island and north of the Wreck) but it can't be because the ILZ Corridor is massive, it's got plenty of space for multiple cyclopes.
(Side note:)
While I admit the Grand Reef is a relatively confusing name, the blood kelp zone is absolutely not. It's so named because it's filled with blood kelp, which A) is scannable, and B) it's immediately obvious why it's called blood kelp; for one thing, the resource retrievable from its base is called Blood Oil.
If you can find the Underwater Islands (another self-evident name; they're near the Mountain Island - north-west I think) one of the two Blood Kelp zones (I think also the same one with the Lost River entrance) is directly connected to it, so much so that they're one of the few biomes with significant overlap. You'll find blood kelp growing on underwater islands in an area between them.
1. The grand reef under the floating island. People say you can get the cyclops in there but I could not. The glowing balls are in the way, the entrance near the wreck.
2. I just found the blood kelp on the surface growing on some floating islands. The only time I have ever seen it before was in the lost river which made no sense for a blood kelp zone. I looked around the blood kelp forest, but could not find an entrance. I did find a crater with a big metorite in it and a ion crystal room.
3. The entrance I am talking about is at 945, -335, 1190. Its only navigatable with the PRAWN, slowly, or the Seaglide. But the Seaglide cannot go all the way because the tunnel goes way too deep.
An X, Y, Z location to an entrance that actually fits the Cyclops would be helpful, if anyone has one.
^^^ If you are going to warp here then take the commas out.
When you arrive at that location you should see a large blood kelp growing into the cave wall. The Cyclops should be able to get down there and move past the blood kelp. From there you should arrive in the Lost River.
No warp, since I want to take the Cyclops with me. ;)
And of course, I will be placing a beacon or three along the way.
I threw this togeather on creative and switched to survival to prove it works. The strength with the hull upgrades and base platforms is over 100 and can take plenty of more windows. I didn't have time to run and grab plants or fish but this should give you an idea of what is possible in the cove tree area. Note there are several places to drop thermal generators, there is no need for any other kind of power.

I could not find this information readily except for vague descriptions that led to interesting exploring. So here it is. First a few tips
Forget your Prawn on your first trip. That will come later. If you get lost it is much easier to wander around in your Seamoth. Mine was equipped with the MK3 and three storage bins. It also allows collection of valuables (gel, nickel, aluminum oxide, etc.) and hauling of mats later on.
Drop beacons often. I used five total. Make sure you have a compass. Three oxygen tanks and a rebreather are minimal here.
Bring plenty of mats to build a Base down there, including thermal generators.
F1 camera mode provides coordinates in (x, depth, y).
SPOILER ALERT (you have been warned)
1. Go to (-1296, -268, -317), drop a beacon and nose dive to 600 m in a narrow ravine. It is tight but it fits. GO IN SILENT MODE from here on.
2. Travel SE, slightly up pass a single tree in the oval opening then slightly down to the spectacular skeleton with Alien lighting (-1052, -695, -554. Worth a tour.
3. Turn left, go E, a few hundred meters (-871, -706, -567) then go NE. Not many options, follow the canal.
4. From here on you go pretty much straight for 1 km, N-NE, navigating skeletons until you find a small plateau at (-628, -846, 317) with a skeleton and thermals. That is the central location where you can build a base.
5. Directly E from that location is the opening that leads to the Research Facility. This is a great area to find nickel that is falling off the cliff.
6. You can go N from the location and exit to the surface but I do now know if the cyclops fits in there.
7. NW from the location leads to the Tree of Life, the direction you have to go to enter the Lava Room (below).
Leave the bulky Cyclops here. Go back and forth with the Seamoth until your base is comfy, explore, pick up mats, etc. It is safe to do so. You will need battery and power cell chargers.
Lava Room
Leave your Seamoth at the new base. Go back to the surface and pick up your Prawn. Get back down there. Go towards the Tree of Life, you will come to what appears to be a dead-end. You may wish to check it out first in your Seamoth but you are at its depth limit. Or just go for a swim. Drop down where the blue liquid waterfall goes. Navigate through the blue waterfall. You will start to see lava below.
I would recommend bringing extra power cells. These energy sucking cockroaches are extremely annoying. Be ready to swim outside, zap them, repair and repeat.
By now you should have received the Thermal Facility beacon. Equip it and navigate towards it.
On your way you can collect kyanite with the Prawn (drilling arm required).
Good Luck. PL
