No more Chinese Potatoes

I found the potatoes on the mountain observatory and the ones at the base with the marble Mellon. I accidentally ate them all. Is there any more or am I just screwed?

you are screwed. however if you dont mind 'fixing' your oopsie, you can use the console to give you a potato to plant, if i remember right it is 'purplevegetable'

The thing is, I'm kinda new to the game so I don't know how to pull up the console.

or to put it simply, press F3, and uncheck the box that says 'disable console,' after that hit ~ and it will open up a textbox in the bottom left corner, type in "item purplevegetable" and it will give you 1 chinese potato.

What? Did they remove the 'farm' area?

There used to be, at least, an area on another part of the floating island, along the path near the 'edge', that had a few external growbeds with some of the assorted plants on them.

but yeah, there are the two observatories on the hilltops and the actual growing area down between them with the exterior growbeds near a lot of lantern fruit trees

I saw mention of the observatory, and the main base, not the half dozen external growbeds off on the east side of the island. There are, like at least a dozen of the plants there.

I came across them completely by accident - saw the glowing tops of the plants at night, went to investigate because I thought they were something new and exciting!

I thought I had explored everywhere too, but its a bit off the path so not obvious.

The watermelons works far good enough for my hunger problems. That is usually the only fruit I bring back. I plant it in one tiny pot so it grows 4 of them at a time. Enough to keep me hydrated and fed 24/7. So you are not screwed if you manage to make all the chinese potatoes vanish. Try them instead ;; )
