Picture Frames are "broken"
you may have noticed that when you upload an picture from your ingame screenshot gallery into an picture frame, the picture frame will be filled out with the uploaded picture.

http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=932551555

this may work with ingame made screenshots,
but when you try to upload an picture that dosn't match the resolution, it will fill out the
picture frame and (in most cases) becomes (i don't really know how to call this, so i just go with) "useless", "obsolete" or "impossible to look at".

the thing is, that picture frames worked just fine before the silent running update.
pictures that were uploaded used to adjust then fill out the frame.

so the point of this is that i see this new addition more as an step back and that i want the developers of subnautica (unknown worlds) to fix this problem.. please!

(i hope that this post is mostly grammatically correct by the way.)

Might be a resolution problem related to your custom picture, there are some free programs which allow you to fix that.

but this happens with every picture
even ingame made screenshots

Oh.

Change the image size to 1280x720 and it will fit fine.

yes of course...
let me just adjust every single custom and ingame made picture!
but seriously it worked before the update and it would'nt be much work to change it back.

Oh, are you a game developer?

no and i get that Unknows Worlds have better things to work on at the moment,
but this dosn't change much. i still think that this annoyance should be fixed.

I don't see a problem, I am on experimental.

All in-game screenshots are saved at the resolution the game is playing in, and all of those images display correctly in the picture frame with no distortion that I can see.

1680x1050

?
ok, let me check experimentel!
Robotkisser May 25, 2017 @ 12:28pm
oh, and by the way: the picture frame was always a bit wider than the ingame screenshots were.

Well, I did not try images that were not taken by the F11 capture. And perhaps my resolution matches the aspect ratio of the picture frame, so I don't see distortion or cropping. It could still be an issue.

nope! same problem in experimental mode.
what's your resolution?

oh... right..
well yes with an 16:10 resolution it makes sense that you don't notice this problem.
sorry for that!
