I guess i just want the fighting and warband parts of Mount and Blade mixed with the open world crafting we see in games like Soulmask but I'm not sure it will ever happen....
did you try the patrol feature, or giving them all a bunch of tasks at the other base, then 'following' the group to keep them loaded as they travel to it, or is there a range limit on taskmaster orders like that?
With such ridiculously fast respawn times is impossible to make safe path (clear enemies) at least for an hour. And I mean dogs too - 20 lvl dog can kill you almost as fast as Panthera Pardus or Croc.
Actually now I remember, at same start, I had one task given to tribesman. The distance was less than 100 meters, to go get some fiber or so. Nah, said - too far.
I tried this. lol
I've moved a couple of times so far, mostly short distance around the starting area to find better grounds, like for water and clay. And one thing I can tell you already, for me at least, is the "click, return item, move to next...click, return item, move to next..." routine gets monotonous really fast. I will keep my "precious" stuff, which is to say workstations, metals, fertilizers, fancy gear, and other goods that hold higher value. You can find rocks, twigs and weeds anywhere, so do NOT bring those.
Also, I find the dismantling of the actual house to be VERY tedious, especially if it's a big two-story thing, or more. Uh uh... I've done it a couple of times already, and it sucks. I would instead think putting someone to full-time work on the Builder station, and others to "unlimited" wood and weed harvesting, would be easier. Then mass produce new house components, and build on the fly. It'll cut HALF of your work out from tearing down the old place. I don't know about higher level houses, i'm only on wood right now, and chopping trees is easier than the "click, return, move to next" bit for each and every tile of the old house (x3, at least, when you consider floors, walls, roofs, etc.). And since I'm not an engineer, it takes longer for me to simply plan how to build the stupid thing than it does for my people to gather up the parts for it.
However, I am NOT looking forward to my next move, regardless. I have a lot of "stuff" on me now that I'd want to keep. And I'm sure that move is coming eventually, if only to find even BETTER grounds as I level up to higher tiers. Ugh.
And yes, I've met with Mr. Random Jaguar a few times. That's not fun. So, I placed a couple of map markers on the locations, so I can try circling around it next time.
Just craft a couple of Portals in the current base and the next base and moving bases is far easier compared to other games. Moving tribesmen should be easy to do provided that they travel with us when deployed. Of course, there will always be one long trip to transport the portal and its foundation to the new base.
This is what I planned to do. Just about to make the portal now. However I did two runs to move stuff, took my alpaca and a tribe member each time all loaded up. Got everything I needed really. Now got new tribesmen gathering boxes full of stuff.
