Defense mod 1 ingredients? Where to get "serum"? [with answer]

As the title says, I was thinking, going in boss fights with the little extra armor/defense can not harm...

so well, I have copper wire and unlocked the brewing stand, because mineral oil is way out of range and locked behind the awareness lvl 30 cap. Mineral oil processing comes at lvl 54...

so but there is an option - RAW LACQUER - ladies and gentlemen

to make this I need resin which I have plenty buuuuut it also asks for "serum"

so what is this and where can I get it? Nothing in the blueprints and googeling ... well that didn't helped either, bummer

So where can I get my hands on some juicy "serum" anyone knows? Is it a rare find? Drops from a boss?

I can assume that it comes from the same place as sulfur, but it doesn't seem to be in the game yet. Either I didn't find it

i mean the "serum" icon looks a bit like some liquid in a bowl from a tap? kinda
but I guess due to the odd translation sometimes - a tree sap trap came out as

after a bit of confusion, the first thing the pipe gatherer produced was resin and nothing else ... the "serum" came later - here we goooooo
