Repairing gear
Its nice we can repair gear in game but its max durability is going down way too extreme.
I think no max durability loss but more expensive repair cost would feel much more enjoyable.

Staying armed and clothed requires you to endlessly grind and re-craft gear with very slow progression because you might not be ready for the next tier yet.

Maybe is better late game but... I have another problem with gear...

If you upgrade for example your bronze armour with the Claw Cloth and Claw Paint to the claw costume and you eventually have to repair it... you need the cloth for repairs again!

The cloth is a fairly low on drop rate (most likely only 1, rarely more, max I got once was 3) in the advanced chest behind the barrack boss. Needing the cloth AGAIN for only repairs is absurd... my assumption was the repair cost was just the regular bronze requirements, but its the darn cloth.

I now play on single player, and disabled max dura damage on repair, lowered the durability loss in general, and removed the cost for repair to actually make the game enjoyable to play.

I avoid official servers just because of the repair / re-craft gear grind.

What do you guys do / think / advice?

My friends and I have a private dedicated server for the 4 of us... We love survival games, and the durability loss on repair is DUMB.. All 4 of us dont like it, so we turned it all the way down in settings. But kept the repair cost normal. To us it works fine, it does keep it grindy to have to get materials sometimes, but we are STACKED with matts and get more everyday. i never made those tribe armors to be honest but i know what you mean. i just made the saber tooth tiger iron armor and it takes adhesive to repair, which cant be crafted, only found in the desert area. i also turned off building decay when not near a bonfire. We spent 100s of hours of valhiem and to be able to build anywhere without having to worry about it decaying is better to us.. however you can just increase the bonfire amount as well. I think if youre having fun with the way you have the settings, thats what its all about man!!
