Animal breeding after moving from the Rainforest
I want to start this off by saying I am really enjoying this game. I love that you can fully automate a base and my first base I succeeded at having all the resources needed to keep it automated.

Now I just recently moved bases to the hills area and have a few questions regarding resources, especially animal farming.

In the rainforest there was turkeys, capabaras, and monkeys which helped with providing meat, feathers, fruit, etc. There is no equivalent in the next biome - which would be fine if I could just pick up and move all the animals to the new base, but you can’t. Unless you maybe individually capture and haul each animal through the portal or the thousand meters of area to the new base…

I know crafting portals factor in after the 3rd boss, but in the meantime do you just have to travel back and forth between bases in the rainforest and hills? Seems like a poor design for the “automation” factor. Let me know if I’m missing something.

Should have built closer to the biohome portals, also you only need 1 male and 1 female to restock pens.

Even so, it's only 1 trip with a llama and just stock up all the materials. Don't even need pens at new base. It usually only take me 5 mins, base 2 -> portal -> base 1-> back to portal -> base 2. New farms perhaps, but that's due to weather and specific crop conditions.

Hoarding is bad, I don't even know what to do with several thousands worth of vines, feces, feathers, etc.

I am close to the portals and for the most part the way I automated my first base I didn’t have any hoarded resources, I had outputs set to use most of what came in. But animal breeding is a good way to provide meat for some of the foods and keep them automated.

Also as far as I know you need to carry the captured animals so you walk pretty slow and can’t use the alpaca when transporting them. So even with portals that would be tedious to do repeatedly until I have stocked a male and female of each.

Thank you for the response though, it kind of confirms that they don’t have an easy way to do it and makes me want to suggest having new animal breeding options in each biome that provide equivalent resources, maybe even upgraded resources to match tribe progression.

So a few minutes of travelling is torture to you? The llama is not an alpaca... Oh well, another game tourist :)

I misread that but if the llama saddle works that’s definitely better than carrying.. and yes a few minutes of walking slowly carrying an animal would’ve been torture when it requires many trips.

Keep being condescending though if it makes you feel better about yourself lol.
