I use it to clear camps. It is also great for the first boss, Sabertooth. The thing to keep in mind is that it takes forever to draw, so make every shot count. Shoot them in the head, unless they are almost dead.
You just HAVE to raise turkeys or other bird to keep enough feathers on hand, as they require a lot of feathers to craft.
I usually bring 50 or so for a camp, and have arrows to spare after. Headshots with the great bow make most things die quickly. Plunderers are an exception, but they are a bit too meaty, considering they are harder than the stuff in the dungeons they sit outside.
I have a weapons master red quality tribeswoman who has -55% bow draw speed.
So i can draw a great bow as fast as a normal bow which is great for fast knock down killing.
I can knock and fire before they stand up from being knocked down.
