No invasions?

Ive played the game for over 100 hours now, got a pretty big base in the rainforest and me and friend have 10 followers between us, but I've never seen of or heard of an invasion or seen any bar etc building up?

Starter area has no invasions but if you build near the copper or tin mines, a 'heat' bar will start building in your 'tribe defense' UI.

People on the server said it only happens when your heat gets to a few million. Mines on almost 3 mil and I'm yet to have one invasion.
