Wild Griffin ?
are there any ?

i'm asking because the griffin mask says it needs 60 griffin feathers per craft ... i'm not sure if this is due to a setting i have altered or if this is default and intentional ... but i just killed it twice, so a friend and myself could each claim a head to turn into a mask ... we will need to go back for a 3rd head to mount on the wall ..... but the heads are a side point to the feathers ... both my friend and I only got 6 feathers from the harvest of the griffin, meaning you have to kill that boss griffin 10 times to make 1 mask .... this seems excessive considering NONE of the other masks require more than 1 boss kill for the mask .... and then the next boss mask, the Mammoth one, also wants 42 Tempest Griffin Feathers .... so another 7 griffin boss battles to get "extra components" for that mask ...

as i say, i'm not sure if there is wild griffin to farm for the feathers or if it is just the boss ? ? if there is wild griffin... i haven't noticed them while out and about, whilst i haven't uncovered all of the map, i have been to all the areas gathering resources.... ??

There is no wild griffin, and yes you have to kill the boss again to get those feathers BUUUUUUUTTT

You forgot a crucial thing : each boss have 3 version

Normal/Berserk/Doom (obviously the boss get stronger, berserk introduce new moves and doom make everything, including environment hazards/AoE impact WORSE, so prepare your resists)

Normal version barely give 1 to 8 boss material (feather/claw/bone), and most of them have only 10% drop chance

And then you have the berserk version : give 4 to 48 boss material, you're guaranteed to have some materials but RNG can decide you get two drop of feathers instead of one drop of feather and one drop of bones

And Doom give : EIGHT TO NINETY-SIX !!! of EVERY MATERIALS AND ALL GUARANTEED

Which such amount dropped, crafting your griffin masks will just require one doom griffin dead corpse

PS : BTW careful with server settings, as by default there is the "dynamic scaling" which scale boss and elite for insane amounts for each supplementary character fighting them when you're not alone, so if you're on a private/local playtrough, try to uncheck this dynamic scaling or ask to make it unchecked

Also when fighting world bosses (or pyramid boss) your loot from the dead corpse is multiplied by the number of participants (including AI) so the 4 to 48 or 8 to 96 will also be doubled since you are two (2 players with 2 AI? that's 4 times the loot)

only 1 person can loot the head and harvest the boss ...

we were 2 players, each with 3 minions in tow ... i will have a look for the dynamic scaling thing, as that may be on, as even the basic beginner version of the bosses is a bit of a scrap ...

seems a little strange that the griffin boss is the only one required to be killed multiple times just for the mask though ... all the others just require that boss to be killed the once for the actual head ...

for the time and effort it will take for the griffin kills .. i think i might be better off doing the dungeons for mats to repair the nature mask thing i found in an ancient dungeon ...

Yes, but the one harvesting will get the amount multiplied by/of everyone, except the head i guess (so its better to do it with your friends/member of same tribe than strangers, to avoid conflicts <_<)

The mammoth boss mask also require griffin feather, and yes, its weird griffin and mammoth masks require boss materials (outside the head) while other only required general materials, but again, with the amount a berserk or doom can drop, it might go faster than you think

You mean the "Nature Enlightement"? not worth repairing, most of its bonuses are crap

You're much better off equipping "Wilderness Mark" mask (available at the jungle cave holy ruin, west of the Flint Fortress), as it specialize into Bows, +30% accuracy, +20% projectile speed, also +30% DMG with bow (mimicry give +30% fire rate and the mimicry active give slight auto-aim)

Against a boss you mostly fight with bows and arrows, its THE MASK to make it better

ahhh okay

thank you very much ...

i do use bows mostly as well... guess i'm off to that holy dungeon place :) i have discovered it , just not gotten around to going in there yet :)

I warn you, its HEAVILY poisoned, also very long ruin/dungeon, i recommend full fogfrog set with lvl 2 poison resist mods, for full poison immunity

Or else you're gonna need antidote and some plant's essence to purge the poison time to time, also poison resist mods and perhaps playing as/with fang tribe member

i have some T2 poison mods on clothing, and will be sure to take some more potions with me :) thanks again
