Turkeys are missing

I just got 2 turkeys before closing the game. I come back and find my Turkeys missing but the pen says 2/15 They have food and water.
Is this a bug? I was hoping to have some turkeys, I won't bother getting turkeys if this can't be fixed.

Do you have a member of your tribe managing the turkeys? They will kill them for meat according to the settings you have in place. Also, not trying to be crass but are the 2 turkeys you have 1 male and 1 female?

Agreed.
Also, players can adjust the rate of harvest at animal pens.

I don't have anyone assign to the turkeys. I feed and water them myself.
I do have or did have a male and female turkey, they were babies when I put them in the pen.

Give them turkey feed. Build a breeding farm nearby. Give butcher knives to a thrall and set them as caretaker in the breeding farm. You will no longer have this problem. They will water and feed them so long as you have turkey feed available.

If you leave it at default then they will only butcher them when at max capacity. They will leave one male and the rest females.

Animals eventually die but you don't need to worry about this if you do as I suggested. I don't change the default settings in animal pens as default works fine.

Thank you so much, I built a breeding farm, got a caretaker and now my turkeys magically appear.

Its a bug at the moment. Happens with all taming pens, sometimes you cant see them but they are there
