Keep a waterbottle on each and some broth or just broth or soup, that gives both thirst and saturation. Read there perks some might like the food u give them.
Pretty much overstocked lol. 300 or more cooked meat and drink etc lol. plus other types of food and drink.
Yes the dining table is for them.
I gave mine like 30 cooked meat and 1 water bottle each in there inventory,which seems to work cause i think they use the well to refill their water bottles or the stream i have my base near.
Eventually, you will probably gain some picky eaters that will want fruits and juices and things from the dining table so it's good that you have one.
Also, you may want to manually go into each tribesperson's E menu and set their food/drink/bandage levels (the defaults are set to 60%)
No idea why they would run home on their own unless you are somehow ending deployment. But, they really shouldn't be running home anyway unless you are still very close to your base.
