Changing crop trees

Is there a way to remove a crop tree from a farmland without retrieving the farmland
(you lose stored fertilizer when you do this)

For example I have papaya's growing in one of my farmlands and I want to change it to guava but I don't want to lose the stored fertilizer.

U just look on farmland and change type, next time he will replant with the one u want.

Yeah, that doesn't work with the persistent tree crops like papaya I changed it to guava and since the plants never stop growing they never get replaced. I tested for the last 4 hours or so and in all that time standing around in base not a single papaya plant has been replaced.

So I guess I have to place a new farmland down or retrieve the farmland and start again on the fertilizer.

you could wait until the fertilizer runs out, then wait until the tree starves to death... would be a long wait though.

Nope, nothing works. Herbicide neither. Herbicide does not seem to work at all. I have put it in the short cut items, but could not select it to apply.

It's a real problem with removing trees. My Farmer has put composite fertilizer in this field, 10'000 of each fertilizer type in this field !
Funny that there are tons of " Soulmask ultimate farming guides" in the Internet, but nobody has mentioned this issue yet :)
