What's the point of having an Upgrade Selection?
So, I just realised the point of an Upgrade Selection is completely useless in this game....

You can just build/replace anything by building on top of the same thing. ie; If I had wooden, walls, I can just create a stone wall, and simply select the wall, and build on top of the SAME thing I'm trying to upgrade.

To upgrade something, I need to have already built the structure/feature I'm trying to upgrade, but the difference being, I have to go through Menu's in order to upgrade said feature... Rather than just putting it into my hotbar, and building/upgrading it manually, only 10x faster.

What the hell was the point of having this "UPGRADE" function, when it does nothing?

When you upgrade as opposed to just building over something, you get the original piece back. As in upgrading wood wall to stone will give you wood wall back. Doing a replacement without upgrade will give you some of the resources back as if you uncrafted it.

This.

If I place a wooden wall over a thatch wall, I'll get a but of thatch and maybe a rope piece back. If i upgrade the thatch wall with a wooden wall piece, I get the thatch wall piece back.

Now, that might not be useful to you, depending on whether you think you'll get any use out of the replaced pieces, but that's the difference. If you don't need the old pieces back, then replace and save time.
