adding Roofs above a farm?
is that a good or bad idea?

have not tried it myself & wanted to ask here first.

Never tried it.

my thought on this
Roofs will stop rain, so you need to water your crops yourself.

I am curious what the advantage of a roof could be ?

some of my crops have been complaining its too hot & wondered if i place a roof above them that would fix it to some extent (with the temp control thing you unlock later)

Add a roof and nothing grows, you also get a warning that they have to be outdoors to grow. Wait 2 mins and the crops despawn

You could build walls around your farms, and place the temp control within it. I haven't tested this, but sounds like it could work.

housing doesnt prevent you or anything from being cold or hot. take a bonfire to a suitable area and make a farm there. when you unlock cooler and heater, do as you please.

np ^_^ i love the farming in this game. it definitely needs some QOL like a FPP to make manually planting easier or some kind of snapping for planting.

i had sent them some feedback about possibly adding a temperature overlay to the map. the map is just too bare bones atm.
off topic question though Vin.

are there any guides or tips around NPC invasions? on which part of them they start invading?

my base is on the Beach (lots of free space) you see & it doesn't have a Fever meter for invasions.

ive no experience with the invasions but i saw someone say upgrading the bonfire to higher quality makes the raids harder. people can still get abducted randomly (dont know how this even happens since i have raiding and invasions off). id say to protect your tribesmen use the loot you get from raiding the barracks to make your people at least able to defend themselves.
Noted! though ill still try & find more info about this as there is little on that topic particularly

I was aware of the fever, so i went in my settings and looked, and default it was 1 hour 30min long lol, 30 barbarians or maybe more, medium diff. So i toned it down a LOT. 30min duration and max 8 barbarians. I have stone wall around but i border to a little mountain, and love and behold 3 guys spawned on the mountain, the elite magicly appared infront of my front gate but inside it. But since i was prepaired i had 3 guards patrolling, so they ended it quickly, they destroyed my archer stand, thats it. If you don't have a FEVER meter you have it turned off.
