chest already open

I'm playing solo on private server, but for some reason on my first expedition to the large barbarian barrack near copper mine the medium and advanced storage boxes near the bosses were already open and empty

It's a glitch. not sure why but sometimes i can wait 2 or 3 days IRL and chest still won't be filled. i think it has something to do with the spawning of bosses and if your still in the area during respawns but you have the respawns turned off in the settings. Normally i just do a full clear of all bosses and sub bosses and this will normally make all chest respawn 2 days in game later.

If one of the barbarians near the entrance manage to run to the signal pyre and finish lighting it, the medium and advanced chests will be emptied out. You even get a notification in the text box when it happens.

Never noticed it with my 3 visits or so to the camp.

Thats why I also get unlimited reinforcements?

Any more info? So theres guards that run to light a fire and you must destroy it before lighted up?

Well i had a case where chest lid was open but there was stuff in there. I was the only one in the server for a day.

Yes. There is a guard that is set to light the fire. You can tell which one it is because he carries a flag/banner on his back. As long as the fire burns the camp will spawn reinforcements. You can kill the guard before he lights it or destroy the signal fire. Each entrance to a barrack/fortress usually has 1 campfire.
