Where can I get iron without dying if I can't beat slayer x?
More awareness won't help me if it doesn't give me something I that actually makes me stronger. Awareness unlocks things. I already have everything into the next tier unlocked. I need the materials to build them without dying.
If you want to get out of the rainforest, game wise the idea is first going west and then upwards. But my mate and I decided to go trough the claw tribe passage and then settled around lvl 35 mobs north of the stone bridge. Was kinda tough with lvl 25 at the beginning, but it worked.
Iron is first located in the wastelands to the north, and volcanic regions to the west.
But if your struggling on Slayer X you may struggle with High level mobs in those caves.
Are you just trying to face tank Slayer X or are you back off when it attacks and come back in to damage it the machines are all fairly easy to fight as they are very telegraphed with long open windows of evasion.
You don't run on many of these bosses, they will turn crazy if you run. You stay close but controlled.
Don't be too gear dependent as eventually you'll hit a true wall.
if you don't, your attacks do far less damage and "bounce" back after hitting, which stops you moving for a moment. The boss also seems to attack slower when "corrosioned".
For the whirlwind, it is indeed tough, but the trick is to roll 3 times....as fast and close together as possible, do 3 dodge rolls back to back (that means making sure to always have enough stamina to do that!). You might take one or two ticks of damage between rolls, but they're only like 100 damage each.
use hammer, smack smack, back up or dodge roll away for his attack, then move back in and smack smack. all his attacks are single attacks except whirlwind and single blade, so except for those, they're all dodge out and immediately back in. Just 2 quick attacks from you, no heavy attacks, no squeezing in a 3rd hit....at least until you feel comfortable with the patterns.
As for iron, you can make iron using the scrap metal you find on the robots, the coal ore you find in the chests, and carbon powder you make in your base (branches -> charcoal -> carbon powder). It's not much, but it's enough to get you your first weapon, maybe 2.
After that, exit the ruins and follow the river south to the mangrove, then cross the river west into the wilds and get the hill portal. Fogfrog is a pushover and there is a cave leading to another robot dungeon north of the hill portal...that cave is poisonous and has poisonous centipedes and frogs, but both enemies are able to be easily beaten with quick attacks from spears while backing up or strafing, and the poison cloud is easily tolerable if you just watch your health and bandage....that cave has loads of iron ore., which will solidly catapult you into the next tier.
When they extend the great swords out and do their walking whirlwind just roll nonstop away. This will usably result in minimal dmg if you cant get out of range fully in time.
For a solo player its just too stressful, getting 1-shotted(/lazer locks) even on highest armor tier. Just to lose your items and re-suicide an alpaca all the way in.
I could give you some technical tips(using a hammer, double dodge manuvers) but honestly it might be just better to wait for a difficulity tune as the stress coming from it might be unhealthy
When it does the spin attack, you will see a wind-up, usually early enough that you can spam roll backwards so you can stay out of range. But no matter what you do, do not try to bluntly block when it spins. That's how I died the first time. Even if you are taking hits, keep rolling away.
ps. an error i see many in "full legendary gear" does ... no mods ... the mods is what makes you strong.
If it helps you. please leave a like and comment.
Thanks bye
