How do I equip this red cube?

How do I equip / use this?

If I got to Y and unlock the cube at bottom left, I see no way to tell the UI "Equip this thing I have." I've clicked on the slots there and nothing happens.

You put them in your mask at the mysterious table crafting table.

The red crystals can only be equipped and unequipped at the mystery table thingy.

You find it in pretty much every dungeon. So when you were able to find red gems, you're probably near one. Also, you dont need to fight every machinery in there if you dont want to. They dont chase you and move slow.

they arent that strong, even the legendary ones. just play the game... if the dungeon is hard, level up and make better gear. you can get legendary free gear from leaders of tribes in barracks. being 5 levels above the enemy will give you an advantage, being 5 levels below, everything feels like a boss. use corrosion tanks on all mechanical enemies. you're welcome

I am level 45 in full legendary bronze gear with a 45 companion also in full legendary bronze gear, using jerkied meats, and I can't make it through the barracks bosses that are level 25 on my own without a friend.

I can occasionally farm the big guy in the dungeon where slayer x is, but I can't kill the main dungeon boss there.

I do recall seeing the mysterious table in there before the boss, but I died carrying it.
I can probably get it again if I gamble losing a few companions.

I feel like I am missing some manner of stepping stone between now and iron.

You dont even have to kill the main boss there to get the table pieces they are in the next room over with no boss fight.
