lets talk anaconda's

Really, this has to be bugged or invented by a mad man, anaconda's are LARGE in this game BUT that's not the problem, nono.
the problems are the very first hit you take by the snake is a constrictor move "nothing special because that's wat anaconda's do" BUT after you are released, you fly back a few meters "give or take" and you are stunned, "perma stun", the snake then slowy comes over and starts a new animation that locks you from fighting, THE SNAKE EATS YOU WITCH IS FREAKING COOL ... but annoying because it starts to eat you when i have only lost 1/4 hp, this is BS if you ask me, total BS, atleast give me a chance to fight the darn thing.

btw the detail is amazing, when you come back to collect your items from the basket, and you look at the snake that eat you, you see its belly in the shape of your character lol, freaking cool and all lol, eye for detail i'd say.

I'll have to watch for this next time.

How do we kill it? I can do jaguars all day long, but I haven't figured out this foe other than sneak around it and leave it the hell alone.

I've literally just died to one tonight for the first time after being mislead thinking they were easy as I killed about 5-6 of them before this one killed me. I seen the wrap around animation and it looked cool as. Not seen that in a game like this before.


So then I thought yep just another snake I am fine... nope??? This time the snake did what you just described, kinda. I never got flung I just got wrapped up then I couldn't escape and it came out of nowhere. I wasn't inside stuck but then suddenly I was and I was so far from base as I was hoping to find a mount.

Not sure if they are bugged or not but the first few were just so easy and then this one was the opposite but this one felt broken.

Almost closed the game but told myself no let's get back to my body, oh I know let's do something I never do...take a clan member with me...

All going good, almost back. Jaguar jumps me and 2 shots me while my clan mate then fights it all I can hear is them fighting as I am dead...

I alt F4 at this point as I am too annoyed lol.
I can't handle the slow travelling anymore I need a mount but just travelling to one is annoying death everywhere

yea the snakes are INSANE, i almost got one killed, it had like 10hp left before i got hit, stunned by the coil attack, flong back, still stunned, then eaten with 80% of my hp left.

i give up on the snake, i'll avoid it for now.

Just get in front of it and back up when it attacks, then poke it in the head a few times. Rinse, repeat. There's nothing it can even do to you at this point, and it only tries to constrict you when attacked from the side so you don't even have to worry about that.

Good to know. Kinda like how the jag can be kited all the livelong day, just don't get in front of it or it will pounce and eat you. Nifty.
I killed my first snake today. It was busy constricting a bush dog so it couldn't attack me :)

yea, i try this but it still coils up and stuns me, and then seconds after it eats me, this is really bugged for me, i can't or barely hit it and it seems to be able to hit me from a mile away.

blocking seems to stop that. also if u have a tribe mate/npc with u, just attack the snake. should be able to kill it easy while constricted.

Maybe deploying a tribesman with decent gear is the best bet since while the Anaconda is killing the controlled character, it is vulnerable to the tribesman's attacks.

my weapons are perked for stam down. it will pounce to get to me, then my heavy stam down attacks just nuke the stam bar. it proceeds to only do basic attacks once every other second or so. trivial battle then

em poking around with the tribes men, but i'v set them to assist me, but they don't he looks at the snake untill i'm dead and then when the snake attacks him, he starts to fight "and loses too".

i'v looked at the settings for the tribe dude, i'm 99% sure i set them correct,

There needs to be some kind of escape. I get wrapped when I get the snake down to almost no health. You should be able to atleast get one hand free with a knife...

I would recommend shield spikes and armor spikes. Maybe you can add them as an armor mod or weapon mod. Then she would stop "cuddling" and eating.

I have no idea what you have, I kill anacondas easily, if she ever gets around to choking me she will be killed by my entourage.


Maybe you should get better equipment and companions... everything doesn't always happen overnight... be happy that this game offers long-term fun and can't be mastered in 2 days!

I honestly thought it was a bug or script. Every Anaconda I get to 10% or lower health (5+) has immediately wrapped me. No hint it's going to happen either. That would be nice atleast.
