Cooking oil costs for food are ridiculous

cooking oil is crazy expensive to make for the amount of it that recipes need.

Fried Rare Steak, the 30 minute tier max hp and regen food requires 8 PER STEAK.
Broken down into raw ingredients, Fried rare steak requires 2 rare meat, 10 crude salt, and 40 nuts!!!

While you could double your oil production by using seeds, that
1) is an extra production step in a game where the game struggles with managing ongoing vs. dynamic tasks
2) means that if you queue up large amounts of oil (which you'll need in huge quantities), then you're using the same resource that the farms use to grow the item - and unless you forbid the containers that those seeds end up in and manually move things around per crafting job, you'll kill off your own farms
3) even with those oil costs cut in half, the requirements for making SINGLE servings of food are ridiculous

Fried Rare Steak is the biggest offender, but all the food of that tier (and a couple below it) use THE SAME INGREDIENT, so it's not even a case of "make what you have lots of ingredients for" because they all compete for the SAME items.
Premium Steak - 10 nuts per item
Fried Potato Bun, Fried Taco, Fried Pumpkin Ring - all cost 25 nuts per single item.

want to buff up for exploring or a harder fight? Defense Staple Food, Stamina Regen Fruit, and Max HP+regen meat will cost you 90 nuts worth of oil.

I have 15 farm plots. 7 of them are devoted solely to cashews/peanuts for cooking oil, and I still run out all the time. And my dining table and accessible chests don't allow those top tier foods, so they're not getting eaten by tribesmen and making me run out either.

Well, I mean its mostly endgame food, but when planting peanuts, doubling them into seeds and using these for cooking oil, you should swim in it with just a few peanut farmplots.

there is a crop you can plant to press into cooking oil, i have oil for days. also keep every NUT you find and press them.

Just get a monkey it will bring you nuts for free for cooking oil, you can get as many monkeys as you need those nuts.

I don't even know where to put that cooking oil.

Yea, but the amount you will get with monkeys is not comparable and it's so easy to get them with small trap, they don't even run from you. And you can either leave them where they are and just comeback once in a while or take to your camp and they will place in your boxes what they collect.

They basically give you free bananas, pineapples fruits, nuts and mushrooms. I have 2 monkeys in a camp and i throwing away bananas, pineapples and mushrooms every day bc it's just too much.
