Vajra is outrageous - DEVS this need some balancing
Solo player at lowest difficulty possible and I can't take more than 50% of his health. I'm way above the recommended level and using iron gear. And before people like the Discord dwellers come with the gitgud mantra, you don't like it, don't bother answering.

you have to manually force your companion to eat and drink too. this is a point they could improve.
Its just they do not do it for buffs.
this is what i meant. i know they can eat and drink themselves. but they will not consume things to reduce effects.

we spam honey to reduce radiation. they will not.

we use wine to stop morale decay and then reapply it when the timer is off. they will not.

again this is why i said it is a point that could use improvement.

Edit: they can also restrict eating to maintain buffs to deployment only.

A lot of people want easy mode lately.

The monkey, of course, is more difficult than the other two bosses and even the next one, but nevertheless it is quite easy to kill if you know all its movements, jumps and attacks. The most important thing is not to let yourself be captured. That's the whole secret.
I'm a solo player, I killed her the first time (normal difficulty).
Of course, I was dressed in iron.
I killed her mainly with a bow, only occasionally taking double blades (when I knocked her out of a tree and she fell).

PVT this is not me trying to get you to watch my boring channel. I have a video 2 actually where I would have beaten Vajra 2x but guess what remember the hurricane? It caused me to DC my 1st go at the ape. So I only beat him once ON OFFICIAL. Here is the trick. Get a good tribesman with like 60% dmg reduction, Steelbody, Endurance.....good perks and if you find one...set him on RANGED....give him 300 premium bandages or the tier above that bandage they are very easy to craft........give him 20-30 green blood craps lol.....and put him in Iron armor perfered......Now you should be using a Steel weapon or an Iron weapon no lower....Steel can be farmed from the Ruin in the Top Right corner of the Desert, yes its in a robot dungeon......so you can get a Steel Hammer there.....your also going to need a ranged weapon for when he climbs the tree to heal.......its a grind to kill him but its def possible to solo him and you can watch my video as proof....you will be proud when your done and than if your like me....your going to say....Why would I do this on Berserk and Doom mode? lol

Never been "1 hit" before. Usually it's a flurry of hits, you go down and suck air and finisher incoming. I guess you play it like an action rpg, charge in like leroy jenkins and don't know how to dodge or parry with disgusting glass cannon dps focused stats distribution.

What are you talking about? "Disgusting dps", "do you have 120+ proficiency?", "learn to dodge" etc. ? Are you trolling??

Thsi should NOT be liek that for mid level PVE mob. It is a sign of imbalanced game design and need to be nerfed. Period.

It's the boss, dude.
Of course he should be much stronger than your "mid level PVE mob".

well, i wasted a lot of time reading through these posts, most were unhelpful and don't really accentuate some of the more obvious aspects of why this fight is much harder than the previous 2 bosses. aside from "skill issue" or not being over geared, or setting things to the easiest difficulty or even having a good companion etc etc. this boss is only really weak to slash damage where as the other bosses were pretty weak over all to most damage types, yes damage resistances are a thing you should be checking when you have a hard time. this boss is iirc 4* weak to slash and not so much anything else, this means weapons like dual blades probably the best option for good damage output when you have the opportunity or the great sword are fantastic options granted you need good skills too to compliment them, this also is means that if you were like me you found that you could not 3 shot the boss with full on archery gear using a great bow and headshots this time (sad face). this is also about the time in the game where resources are harder to come by (for progression) and you have to spend more time in harder areas to get less of anything useful to progress. things slow down considerably at this point. many of you will be very limited in terms of gear as well. the hammer debuff and the dual blades at good quality iron are a very good tip as is learning the dodge times and bringing a ranged companion while using good food buffs. all good advice for this fight.

this fight is arguably the first real brick wall you may come across if you have been relying on gear and good skills/traits to carry you, and like i noted the resistances on this guy are very different than the other bosses you already took down, so if you geared yourself towards an archery build for example you will have a very hard time since this boss has a mostly melee requirement to do decent damage with a lot of up in face combat you need to be able to dodge though, tanking is an option with certain companion builds but that's rather niche and hard to pull off with high risk to boot. (i think his pierce resistance was like 1*, so kinda screwed my archer/spear dude i was using, had to come up with a whole new NPC for this fight)

overall, this is a hard fight, it is doable and i think sometimes it comes down to getting lucky with the boss AI and how aggressive it is being some of my runs felt much easier than others and some i got spanked from the get go. your mileage may vary

also unlike other bosses this arena feels much smaller that the others and the tether distance for HP reset feels absurdly small, this makes doing anything ranged rather risky as it may reset his HP bar as well, not that its a good strat anyway since dude will be in your face and basically shrugs off arrows like they are gnats... (as a side note devs if you are listening i don't mind the hp regen for leaving range but does it have to be damn near instant? )

but i hope this post is more helpful and explains a few more aspects of why things are probably easier for some than for others.

TL;DR: if you do not bother looking at resistances in fights and just plan to hit things till they die, you will have a bad time.

P.S: bleed procs are very powerful :)

I think with fights like this one requires tinkering with different techniques. One I like to use is to stick close to a tree, using it as a barrier between me and him. I recorded it and put it on youtube if you would like to see: https://youtu.be/-HOld46Eg6I
