I meant the game is soloable in general, but...
Well, I just did the 2nd one, took me just over a minute. (server settings 1x damage outgoing, .9x damage incoming, everything else is 'hard' default), without bringing a companion and with Iron gear a mix of green to purple, and only some mods.
I can't do the 3rd one yet because I am only at Awareness 42. But I will probably bring a companion set to "Ranged" when I do. And wear steel gear, obviously.
Of course my character is somewhat of a beast. Level 42 Red. +8% Crit from Tribe. Weapon Master. Surprise Attack (Chance to count as weak spot) Crave for Blood (Chance to heal from damage done) and Getting Braver (Chance to add a stacking buff to Crit chance, crit damage, and move speed) And +9% to ranged attack.
Shot him in the head with a great bow then just pummeled his head with the gauntlets while he was stunned. I would like to say it was all skill but other than just dodging and shooting his rather large head, I just held down the left click to spam punches as his health bled away.
I imagine the 3rd is quite a bit harder but on casual difficulty you do twice as much damage and take 1/3 as much. So I imagine it is very much doable. Don't overlook food buffs. The jam that gives +10% move speed is VERY good for bosses. And the +20 defense food is good too.
I've never been an agile player of any sort... and in my 60's now, even less so. I do enjoy a bit of adrenaline, but it doesn't help me. My old fingers just can't manage to move me fast enough.
I watched KiahOnFire solo the berserker on "Official" server. I don't have her skills.

Wish me luck on that! hah!
The game can be done solo. Its not easy, fighting is very dynamic and fast paced. You have got to use a combination of weapons for late game content, block and dodge both. Face tanking is just not an option for Solo. Use the right buffs for right fights. Use the right Village with right traits for the right zones, same for mask customisation and or mods on your weapons/armour etc. I cried a lot early on. Eventually got a hold of the mechanics. In Iron age. Dont find it hard. Settings on Normal with EXP and Drops buffed but combat at vanilla settings.
Can you dodge his pounce? Eyes turn red to give you like a 1.5-2 second indicator. If you can dodge that, you should be ok. The roar can be dodged easily enough. You have I-frames on rolls that seem very generous against his roar. It also seems to be conical in front of him, similar to the frog's poison breath attack and to some degree his tongue lash but I could be wrong about that. Get in, short burst damage, roll away. Regen stamina when out of distance and you can mix in shots with a bow when he circles or just in general. If you do get caught by the roar, there's not much you can do. Boost armor with mods, use torch of eternity mimicry. Might save you but cc in this game is insane. As much as I hate getting perfect block stun locked, especially while the enemy was already attacking, cc is the only thing that keeps Soulmask from being too easy. Without his roar cc, sabretooth isn't even a worthy mini-boss.
Bird is stupid easy shoot him outta the air with head shot pummel rinse and repeat. Mammoth on the hand is a horribly unbalanced nightmare.
I'm iron level now. Will reattempt but only with a saved tribesman at this point because I have a feeling it will end badly. I've learned a few things since my first attempt though. Mods, food, drink, some of the specials. I might have a chance.
Once you learned the paterns of dangerous enemies, the game becomes very easy.
Stack the best food bonuses you have access to (the one giving +100% stamina regen is op af).
Later on, apply revelent modifiers to your armor (poison, radiations, heat or frost resist depending on what you are planing to do).
The harder part of the game is to actually get a fighter with decent stats & skills.
I find the bosses much harder in coop, stronger & far less predictable.
PS: If you struggle in combat, give a shot to the dual blades skill Whirlstep Slash & abuse dodge (dodging = invincibility).
Or does it also roar regardless sometimes?
As I'm trying to do the doom one and it's not going well ..
