If you set a filter on a Chest, then press G, it will send everything from your inventory, to said chest. We 'might' get a 'Top Up' option in the future, but who knows. For now, Filters do a good enough job. Hope this helps

G transfers everything to the chest and T transfers everything from chest to person. And if you just want to transfer all of an item it's Q.

There is no shortcut to transfer all stacks of one material. But if you setup your chests properly (use the categories) you will just use G and T to dump all of your stuff by type. The Thralls auto fetch materials so you rarely need to transfer multiple stacks of one material.

No no no ,.. Rolling, you're missing what I want to be able to do! I already have a chest that will accept (say) thatch ... I just came in from a hunt, my bag is full ... I just want to be able to press say, SHIFT-Q, and every instance of thatch in my inventory is sent to the chest without me having to dig through my backpack!

But before you say it's no big deal to just sort your back pack, grouping all the thatch and then just 'Q' away! You'd be write except these guys wrote a game where half the time (prolly more) you can't see all of your backpack .... so I like to set my preferred items, and then move them down to the last line. BUT sorting the backpack puts all those preferred items in the first spots of the top line!!!!! Which means I have to move them back ...

If just insane what a click fest they have made this game!!! So much so, its turning from a game into a job!

People have already explained this.

Open a Chest and press L - Assign that chest as "Plants". Now open it and press "G", all the thatch in your inventory will transfer to that chest along with other plants. You don't have to rummage around in your inventory at all.

If you only want Thatch to be accepted in that chest then make it only accept Thatch. Then when you press G, only thatch will be dumped into it.

This is assuming you have not set a preference (star symbol) on thatch in your inventory as that stops it transferring to any chest.

Additionally, its best to craft the same number of chests, as there are chest categories. Then after a big hunt when you and your pet are loaded with items, you go open each chest, press G and repeat that process on the next chest. This will dump all the items of that category (armour, weapons, plants etc) into the correct chests.

It's not the best system but it works. I would rather just run into my base and press G once and my loot is dumped into all the chests in the correct categories automatically.

I'd prefer a Necesse style solution to this instead, where you can make a chest that disallows any items, but still allows you to put items in. Then tribesmen transporting items around will pick the items out of that chest and move them to the correct chests themselves.

One of the most satisfying things in Necesse is to have a dump chest, throw everything in there, and watch all of your villagers swarm the chest to move everything to their correct places. It's great. :D

What is with you people? All these chest creations and limitations, and and and and ...

Just give me a damned commend that allows me to move all the thatch in inventory into the Llama I have open, or Alpaca, or Bofire, or yes ... this chest or that chest !

Why are you so fricking intent on making it so complicated .... SHIFT-Q and all of X moves!|

Jesus!

because in this game you arent the only one interacting with chests. your tribe needs to know where you want to have items stored. they cant read your mind unless you tell them. organize your base correctly, mark chests correctly, and simply press G on them. problem solved. youre welcome

Wow, Treveri, you are overreacting. People are trying to help you by explaining to you how this system works and your reaction is to blame them. They didn't design the system, they learned how to use it to do what they want. Setting up chests with filters is a very cool and useful feature and accomplishes what you want, even though it requires some setup.

In Enshrouded I could hit a key combination and everything of the type I have my mouse over would go into the chest. That's neat. I can accomplish essentially the same thing here by using chest filters and G (with the exception of the llaama thing, I don't think they have filters, but I could be wrong on that). But I'm not the only one using these chests, all of my tribesmen also interact with the chests and this system, unlike Enshrouded, accommodates both needs.

Appreciate the help people are giving you and don't blame them for your inability to get what you want. Instead, consider learning the intricate steps built into this complex game. You'll be much happier.

My god, man! Did you forget your meds this morning? The answer has been explained to you in excruciating detail - there's absolutely no reason to be so abrasive toward people who are trying to help you. Also, a quick "thanks, that worked" wouldn't go amiss.

I agree Treveri, I played Grounded and the transfer items mechanic was fenominal, i could run into my storage room, hit X and everything would go from my bag to the chest that had that same item in it. It was beautiful and it needs to be implemented here. This endless clicking is excruciatingly tedious.
