Do better tools yield better harvests?

So as the title says, does using better tools increase the actual yield per node (i.e. ore, tree, corpse, etc.) or does it just increase durability and harvest faster? In other words, if I typically get 10-15 copper per node with a bone pick, will I get the same with a bronze pick, or more?

Similarly, does tool quality affect yield? And by quality, I mean does a "legendary" tool yield more than a "good" tool for example?

Your selected proficiency skills has some effect.

Rarity/Color, no effect on gains per hit since it's just more durability so mine longer(in the end, more ores in total) before it breaks.

Tier/stone-steel, mainly to get the equivalent tier ores else you get stones. Last longer before they break...

Gathering nodes of all types have an HP value, and a total yield. Better tools habe higher "damage" values, and clear nodes in less swings. So better tools get you the same amount of resourves in a smaller time frame.

Thanks. I'm playing solo and have precious few tech points to spend so I guess I'll keep using bone tools for everything except mining. Same for my workers I guess as it's probably a waste to give them bronze tools when bone is dramatically cheaper.

Bronze is too costly to waste on tools for your tribe, have lots of stone tools auto crafted and have them drop damaged ones automatically
