Rain will put it out if you don't have a roof over it.

Nah it happens often that after the initial 5 min, I have experienced this as well, the fire turns off for some reason even without Rain. To fix this, when you put fuel in, turn the flame off and on again (IT problems I know) and it works.

have a tribesmen assigned to upkeep, they'll turn it back on every time it goes out.
