Hrmm.. unless I'm missing something these give 1 point each? Is it a random number? Or are they just 1 point each? Seems like you have to reset to get to higher level items you need. Build them, than reset again to go weapons/armor etc. Not a good system and will need review before the game is finished.
That is the issue in my view. Whats the point of having to dance back and forth with respecs to keep getting what is necessary tech progression. For Multiplayer it forces specialisation between Tribes members. Fine. For solo its a painful game mechanic that needs to have alternative options. Make me grind a dungeon repeatedly to get more Tech Points. Meaning the Tablets. However those need to give more points than 1.
Why do people keep trying to play this game solo? It's not a solo game.
Because it is an option to play solo, which means it is intended to be played solo. If its an MMO than it is not meant to be played solo. As it is in EA there is likely going to be tweaking/adjusting etc. Why I've put this post to provide feedback on this piece of experience on solo.
The amount of work put into EA and the well developed complex system/game world suggest Devs did a good bit of work on this and my belief is they did not just pump out a "catch all" pretty sales trap to capture all audiences so they can turn around and say ... Its not meant to be played solo. Sure money back please.
The game is balanced around multiplayer, not solo.
Agreed. Early release is clearly balanced around multiplayer. However if you are going to make solo play an option. And I dont mean play by myself on a server. I mean play solo in my own private game that means there is intent to offer Single player options. As noted above I doubt that the Devs released it in this state to try and capture sales from all player bases so they can turn around and say. Its not a Single player game. Its clearly not marketed as an MMO.
because even on PVE only Servers people feel the need to build grieferbases that entrap you or keep knocking down low level areas even though the dont need the res for progression
This game is sold with a solo game mode. Therefore the Devs need to make sure it is balanced. So the Devs need to implement a setting to change it, or re-balance it themselves for single player mode. Or remove the mode and refund everyone who bought it for single player.
Dont confuse Single Player vs Solo Player. Single player is what you are referring to. Individuals playing on a server by themselves grieving tribes and doing the gorilla warfare in PvP. Essentially stealth gankers.
Solo play is me on my own map by my self. Not on a server. Before you air personal grievances on a thread understand the thread.
No, it’s the other way around.
Single Player is a mode. As opposed to another mode, Multiplayer. In SP mode you indeed play on your own map, and no one else is allowed to join.
Solo means you play by yourself in either SP or MP. It’s not an official mode, it’s your playstyle preference.
This game is advertised as both Single Player and Multiplayer so you are right, it must be balanced for both modes (but NOT for playing Solo on a MMO server).
