Ninja update for more grind?

Is it my carelessness or they changed iron armor set recipes material from premium leather to premium thick leather? Because I prepared 200 premium leather yesterday for crafting and today I saw it need premium THICK leather, which is almost absolutely impossible to get from elite alligator and only God know from what animals else, because I killed dozens of elite lions and bears and did't get a single premium thick hide or premium thick hide carcass chunk.

How am I supposed to get premium thick hide or premium thick hide carcass chunk from large elephants, mammoth (snow biom) and brown bears (snow biom) with level 25 gear if they just one shot me even on easy difficulty?!

I made Iron like 5 days ago, it was always Premium Thick Leather

Go kill elite alligators in the southwest of the rainforest and butcher it for premium thick hides.

I've found only one elite alligator lair and had to camp/kill him 3 times.
BTW iron set is total crap comparing to advanced tribal combat armor suits.
So I guess I'll grind tribal craftsmen for a few days now, lol.
But there is huge problem - I raided many different barracks maybe 50+ times and I've never ever seen tribal cloth or advanced cloth. Do they even exist in this game?

I saw/looted tribal cloth at the Barbarian Barracks from one of the bosses or the bosses' chests.

Entirely possible that it is better, but you need at least two iron sets to make the sabertooth armor and the fogfrog armor and not be totally defenseless. Fogfrog makes the two poison ancient ruins and holy temple doable with enough poison proof to keep you clean. The saber tooth set just helps you farm the fogfrog fast enough so that the poison doesn't kill you first.

Now I have another problem finding adhesive...Jesus...those uncraftabe ingredients are extremely annoying. I don't have enough time for grinding them around the world from different dungeons/barracks. Same goes to gems such as jade and bloodstone. Why we cannot get them from high tier ore nodes? :(

Adhesive is from the most NE ancient ruins in the desert. There is a cheese to access the skyrim path, bypassing the plunderer's out front and taking you straight to the entrance of the temple.

Bloodstone is in the Hills ancient ruins, west of the Varja Ape temple, it's filled with poison though so you will need a fogfrog set or heavy poison proof mods.

Jade is in the far NW Wastelands holy temple, it is west of the gigantic Fang Tribe fortress. It as an even denser poison, so you will likely need fogfrog set + poison proof mods.

That's what I'm talking about. To craft level 40 armor I must go for materials to the farthest lvl 50 areas of the map. Doesn't make any sense for me, except time sink grinding.

Idk...I mean, it's a survival game? The whole game whether crafting, gathering, or exploring is a time sink so I don't understand the complaint of having to go out to far places to get stuff lol. Also, we were in full Iron before even attempting to go to the desert for adhesive, and it was pretty easy to kill stuff there.

Just set your bros to craft something and go out and explore.

I'm doing desert and volcano now wearing looted advanced combat armor with legendary iron weapon. Iron set is crap :P
And I still cannot find a single tribal piece of cloth or advanced cloth.

Tribal cloth comes from the two chests after you beat a Tribal Chief. If you want Claw cloth, go to the barracks in the NW jungle and just mass murder them quickly. One of the two chests by the sacrifice altar will have the cloth.
