Have you defeated the vajra ape and unlocked data update 3 in the node tree?

The node connected to killing the Ape (Third Boss) is what unlocks those portals theres nothing to fix they work just fine after you do that.

The Mysterious Portals that you find around the map can be used at any time provided we have found at least 2 Mysterious Portals and only require Green Crystals and Mask Energy to unlock and use. Also, we are able to take supplies with us. The top row of the Mask nodes indicates that the Vajra Ape is necessary to unlock Personal Portals which requires being Awareness Level 35, 5 Premium Steaks, 5 Fruit Wine, and 5 Fruit Kebabs to be able to fight him. Personal Portals require a server setting to be able to take supplies with us. Otherwise, we are limited by our hotbar.

Good luck killing Vajra Ape at level 35, because he is level 40.
It took me 38 minutes in full legendary bronze to kill him on easy settings.

I put a report in on this. It's beyond idiotic. I don't necessarily need fast travel, but I just can't wrap my head around giving us the pieces to something, without any guidance whatsoever, and then expecting us to know we can't use it. I invested a great deal of time getting those pieces and the blue crystals so I could move to a new base...

This is pretty silly. they really need to make the crafted portals usable once they are placed. here i am scratching my head as to why they are not working and saying locked when i try to use them, the only reason i know they can only be used once you kill the 3rd boss is through time spent digging for info......... So here i am with 2 portals build, but i'll not be able to use them for what ? another 10-20 levels ??? wtf .. the 3rd boss is lvl 40 and im 32 and not even attempted the 2nd boss ...... Dev's please change this.

That's the problem with progression, one actual and the other skipped. The more you cheat, the more broken the system or at least the perception of it.

I mean...did you not read all your mask nodes? It tells you right there plain as day on Data Update 3 that it unlocks portal use. I knew it within like 10 mins of playing the game that to use portals you have to defeat the ape.

The progression in this game does not make sense. You can craft portals in first area but you can only use them after 3rd boss?

what i think is stupid is that its limited to only ur hotbar and armor, cant transfer deployed tribesmen or tames. Whats the point in the personal portals if you cant transfer anything? Hell you cant even transport ammo for ur bow? defeated the 3rd boss and was like hell ya getting iron back to base would be easier but nope fcking stupid
