Plenty of Llamas but no baby ones

Been to about 4 different "herds" of llamas every 25 mins for 4 hrs and not a single baby llama has spawned. I'm in single player. so no chance of another player scooping them up before me. As far as i know there aren't any predators around either. Anyone had similar issues?

i found plenty of baby llamas in highland area, no issues there, but that was yesterday dont checked today yet

Had the same thing, then I killed the adults.
Next adult that spawned also spawned a baby.
So I guess, if there's no babies, kill the adults and wait for spawn.
