Ritual Sacrificing
I've seen it everywhere and it's been stated multiple times about the low stats of the starting character. I get that the main core mechanic and gameplay loop is finding a better vessel for the mask to inhabit. I'm okay with that. I have no complaints about it. This is just a thread providing feedback to the devs to help improve the game and is ultimately their choice on how to proceed.

I like the direction the devs are going, so good job devs, but as they have stated in their updates and Q&A's, this is just feedback on a problem that some players are having. It might not be a solution, but it's an idea.

The main character is locked at certain proficiency levels and only able to surpass those by data node. That is fine with me. But devs and players, hear me out

Ritual sacrificing is in the game. You can find priests performing such events behind the tribal leaders. We have remodeling available. So it could be feasible to be able to have the starting character capable of performing ritual sacrifices to progress themselves further. In doing so, you could have a chance to inherit innate abilities or proficiency from the sacrifice. I'm talking 1-5 points of one proficiency for each sacrifice. Could be a small chance, could be a large one. It could be tailored to each individual through a setting for the game.

With remodeling. You could lock the starting character at 40, and upon death, you lose innate abilities and maybe a chance of returning a proficiency back to the original value (or higher if you have the node unlocked).

This could keep the core mechanic intact by only having certain level tribesman able to be sacrificed. So you continuously hunter for the tribe members you want and level them up to possible increase the potential of the starter character.

The idea isn't without it's flaws, and could be an entirely bad one. But the objects and some of the animations are already in the game.

tl;dr in longer term it makes sense for the proficiency caps of the initial character to be increased by gameplay means than outright removing the caps. I'd appreciate maximum upgraded level of 90 or 100 to be able to grab those extra bonuses.
