so what do you use your main character for???
I have to agree with the OP: if I'm "the mask", then I decide who leads the tribe, the cult or whatever.
The concept of the mask is a nice idea, but they didn't think it to the end ... it's lacking the final consequence that the starting toon is expandable and should be dismissable as any of the tribesmen.
I am so tired of people going "well I know you intended it to go this way you told me 1k times what you want, but hear me out while ignore you, can you make it more like my game idea instead of yours?" Like I sell stuff and have people all time aprouch me with their "projects" its liek I could do that but it would take me like a week and you won't like the price tag "no no I htink if you sold it for same price this thing I like others might like to." Its like the thing right here is my best seller I don't think you idea will sell that good. "no no" ok ok you make it and prove me wrong then...
I don't think you understood what the guy said. He wasn't complaining about any of that. In fact he liked the idea. He just questioned why the mask would choose the worst character with nothing special about him to get this special treatment and get to scrounge off the rest of the tribe and take up resources and space that a better character could etc. Why would the mask not ditch that guy like it can and does ditch other, better guys?
And idk why you're fighting the idea so hard even if he had when it's obviously popular player feedback that you're seeing often, and the devs DID release ea and specifically ask for player feedback to shape the game.
A design choice can be bad, that's why we give feedback, to fix it.
It's not a core system, changing it won't ruin anything, and could easily be a server setting.
They probably programmed it like this because every game does that, and the Mask swapping idea came later.
Problematically, it's not an issue. The "player object" can have any data associated with it they want, including the appearance and stats. It's already doing that now. The building and things belong to the player object, not to the appearance and stats of the current controlled warrior, if you get what I'm saying.
That is absolutely right, but you gotta admit that OP just complaints without giving any reasonable idea for a change. If the main character can become as strong as any other character the whole swapping mechanic (which is in fact a core mechanic) would be obsolete.
This says it all. He is here to complain, not to give feedback.
I gave constructive suggestion to fix a glaring game flaw, tell me how that isn't feedback.
I said I'd stop complaining with a winky face indicating the non seriousness of the statement, because I have now participated in multiply threads on this same topic, but had not made a clear suggestion on how I think it can be fixed.
So... tough
I bought the right to give feedback when I purchased the game from steam.
I earned the right to give feedback by playing more then 50 hours since EA release.
Well what exactly is your suggestion? All I can find your statements is that you would prefer to permanently swap your starter for some better char which would make the concept of “use different tribesmen for different builds/tasks while risking to lose them” obsolete which is the whole concept of the game.
Or am I missing something here?
