Traps how do they work?
I don't seem to ever catch anything with my traps.. well actually I once caught a monkey but that was a one off and they trap was outside the range of my bonfire.. but if your don't want your taps to not decay they have to be in bonfire range.. but as i understand it bonfires stop creature spawns. I've tried placing traps right by the egg nest that turkeys place and no luck, I've tried next to monkeys nests, nothing,, And the fish traps seem just as useless, you cant place them in deep water but nothing seems to get caught in shallow water.. I've tried with meat and cricket bait. Does the net even do anything? Parrots run away when you get close ....

Get within 20-30 metres of your prey, hide, set the trap and wait. Normally animals will walk right into the trap.

Fish traps need to be in water with fish, and even when they work they don't really feel worth it, you get tons of meat just playing anyway.
You need to put turkey traps near baby turkeys, the really tiny ones. Try to place them without spooking them, you also need to bait the traps.
Capybaras you need a baited medium trap near a baby capybara, again the really small ones, also you can put traps anywhere they will do their thing long before they decay.
With the medium traps you need to actively watch that the adults don't walk into it because it will break.

With turkeys you can place several small traps, empty and scare them into them. This might work on those others aswell. But the alpaca etc you need to put the trap close and bait it with porper food and watch them come closer and closer.

Fishtraps dont work in the "ocean" I've only caught mullets and piranahas inland waters near clay.

Before placing a trap - kill EVERY adult animal nearby, otherwise they'll damage the trap and you'll need to repair it before you can use it again or pick it up.
