That doesn't fix the issue OP is talking about. They are refering to the system that your main character is limited to 50 proficiency in everything possibly getting up to 70, but you have to take control of a tribes member to progress the game after the first boss. If the tribes member dies, and you revive them you will lose all progress you made on that character, and possibly even some traits. All stats and experience resets to when you first tamed that tribes member.
To further clarify just beating the boss, doesnt let you record the tribes member you still need to go into an ancient ruin and get the tablet and this coffin looking thing to record that tribe member so you can record and revive them. That dungeon is far more difficult then the first boss.
Only "bad" thing about the worse main char i found so far:
- your character design doesnt matter
- your "main" char is blocking 1 tribesman slot
--> get a op tribeman and control him. he is now your "main" char.
Your main character is limited to low proficiency levels.
that's not how it works for a lot of people, myself included.
i'm really kinda glad i didn't buy the game on impulse the moment it released because this is a massive dealbreaker.
especially since they apparently don't even offer options to alter the caps on your actual main character.
i mean seriously, in a game where everythging but your actual main char will die for good until you beat a certain boss and jumped through some other loops it's really kinda ridiculous to litter it with insta-death enemies on top of that already absurd mechanic (and way before you even get to said boss) like all those anacondas i've seen in videos that literally just wrap you up out of nowhere even when you're riding a mount at top speed with 0 means to dodge...
gg you just lost the character you probably spent days searching for
Searching for, and leveling. My progression has basically stopped until the perfect respawn update next week. I am just going to build up my base for now and search for a replacement for the guy I lost, then wait.
That's it. You should be able to copy other people's skills. It doesn't work any other way. That way they lose players quickly.
yea, i mean seriously, there were some questions i had before getting the game in another thread, but even if someone would've answered them by now i'm glad i slept the night over it and now dismissed the thought of getting this game...
at least until they either get rid of this stupid mechanic entirely or at least make it changeable gameplay settings to raise the caps on your main to the max and reviving your tribefolks from the get go without losing all progress on them, like it costing some stuff and maybe a small percentage of the levels but not literally resetting them to day 1....
