Mask System - Completely Useless
I got a good character, leveled them up and got really good. Really good perks, really good skills. After some adventuring I died, and went back to revive her (after having recorded her). The revive costs crystals, and it takes half an hour (for this character). The recorded data is the default level you got your character at, with default proficiency levels. Also the recorded talents aren't all there, my character had 12 talents and the record only kept 9. Not even the good ones either, kept all the negative ones.

Yeah same crap happened to my best warriors yesterday. Leveled them both up to 125/125 and 120/120 skills and revived them with default 52/125 and 52/120. No, thanks. I'll play it later.

I'm sorry for both your losses. Remember it gets easier to do as you progress in the game. Good luck finding a replacement, heck maybe even one better. That's how it works, OP, with the revive system.

I really hope it gets easier to do later, but the issue right NOW is getting to LATER.

Exactly this, wonder how many peoples motivation are going to be killed when they learn they have to completely relevel their favorite tribesmen, because 2 eagles killed them on a stone bridge. Just trying to get to Iron equipment.

How it's gonna be easier if we still have have mechanic with skills roll back? Am I missing something?

This need a permanent Radar or for a long time, 30 mintues however. I only use this to get a new Tribesman. And I want to hide the Mask.

you can hide the mask, its in Language and other.

I wouldnt mind so much the reset of tribesmates if it reset to the last time you recorded them.

I know it doesnt do you any good now to see this but I feel ya Ive lost a couple of really good ones also this was from the Q&A the other day:

Q:Even if my tribesmen can be revived, their talents will be gone forever! And the cycle to cultivate a tribesman from scratch is terrifyingly long!

A:Losing your best tribesman is definitely hard to take. Next update in the week, a "Perfect Revive for Tribesmen" option will be added for solo and private server modes, allowing your tribesmen to be revived directly in their optimal state!

How are you stronger today than you were from day one? The same applies. It gets easier as you play to do everything. To include leveling up new NPC's, it isn't going to be the same as day one forever. You're getting stronger, no matter if you realize it or not. It's getting easier to play the game as you progress. Does this mean take your level 20 naked newly recruited NPC into the snow or boss fight because Steinaar said it's easier, NO. Common sense applies.

You got new and better gear, you know the map better, your experience on how to fight and level has grown. It's going to be easier and your going to laugh at being so mad about losing one fully kitted NPC. As the game progresses and you keep playing this is almost all there is to do. Your going to have at least a dozen fully kitted fully leveled maxed out dudes. One loss won't be game breaking or something to cry about.

but don't take my word for it, request a refund

I wouldn't listen to Steinaar, he is theory crafting hasn't even beaten the first boss. Feel free to check his achievements. Even if he may have played in a "beta"(Not saying he did) a lot could have changed since then.

Especially since he calls them NPC's, apparently not realizing they become your character until they die, we aren't talking about deploying and having them follow us around, we are talking about how we have to BECOME them to become stronger.

This is such a nonsensical dev choice.. I dont get how it could be made. The game is great and THIS situation with the mask and the impossibility of developing your main character is exactly how you kill a game. Most players will hit that wall and give the game up. Im considering doing that myself now that I learned about this.
I'm loving the game. Sorry you had a bad experience.

Totally agree. I had to totally change the game direction (thanks for the opportunity to configure the game the way you like), extending my characters maximum amounts of skill to 120 so I could craft and fight without limitations and not depend on useless tribesmen. And I can't remember the game where I was forced to change so many settings and input so many console commands just to make the game playable..
I had this happen once...once. It sucks very bad, totally pissed. Since then, I use my main. Get killed by over leveled enemies? Sure, but the masks power is that it allows me to re-spawn. I hope I can get to the stage where you incorporate your best tribesmen to the mc. I'm solo, so settings help to cover this "black gap" of sorts between your mc cap and the tech to overcome your defficiency.
