Passionate and/or Obsessed traits? I'm "Dispirited"

I'm running a body that is obsessed with hunting and passionate about monkeys, but is in a constant state of dispirited. I think because I haven't seen a monkey in ages? I'm certainly hunting plenty... Has anyone experience dealing with dispirited?

I'm not sure about clearing "dispirited" easily since it seems random when it comes and goes, but for tribesmen with fondness for pets, I find capturing+taming one of the specified animal then making the tribesman carry the tamed animal will instantly clear any negative mood and add a positive mood modifier. I also have a tribesman who likes monkeys but I find he doesn't get the positive mood unless I manually control him and then pick up the pet monkey. Letting the tamed animal perch on the tribesman's shoulder doesn't seem to work either--the tribesman specifically has to be carrying a tamed favored animal in order for the positive mood to activate.
