Bugs i have found with the ai
Where to report bugs? I just found two, https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3261841942 the door frame blocks the ai from entering or leaving and https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3261901157 if the ai is far away from the player 100 meters in my case they stop working and go afk until you walk over to them to check on them the very second you do they start working again.
Quick update, up to 70 meters seems to work fine so i am unsure why this works fine here.

I can confirm both. The door way is a bug and some times fixed just by replacing it. The workers standing idle when working a distance away, I noticed this too but they do still work. They just work less...the need for management arises. At times they work their butts off and other times seems like they're standing around, I think it all balances out in the end.

Patrols doesnt seem to work. Any follower I put on patrol, just sits on the toilet / outhouse... Or just stands still.

i reported the doorway bug through their report system as well. their hunter gallery is also bugged in that tribesmen try to attack something that isnt actually there.

i have to leave the base in order to look at the hunter gallery.

I find it quite funny that they laze around when the main "boss" aka the one wearing the mask is away but the moment you come back their like "oh ♥♥♥♥ boss is coming, quick everyone act bussy"

I double checked, they work just fine up to 50 meter away, so maybe up to 60 meters is fine but yeah i triple checked before posting but they just stand out there doing nothing if you are to far away from them while they are working. I am not sure if this is a distance issue or a base location issue.

I tested to see if they are really working or not. I made only one chest access to tribe mates. I ran away cleared a few camps. Checked their personal inv on my way in and they had stuffs. I checked the storage box and it also had stuffs. However it looks like they're just chillin. I also noticed when NPC deposit sometimes they're able to do so without visiting the storage. It magically teleports stuff inside. I was using said storage and had items appear. No NPC nearby. I was like wtf. There is that to consider.

Real life in our video games, pffft. It's this way irl too. Work gets done by end of day when you observe the work being done but otherwise, ohh that will take a week to do boss.

I've recently discovered the hunting gallery bug also. I was rather surprised when "suddenly" my whole crew went wild on me as i was reviewing the gallery screen of different animals I've crossed paths with. I opened the screen, and they all rushed in and started attacking the image in the gallery. This happened for multiple images, and it repeated if I changed images along the way. It's a bit amusing, really. I hope they don't hurt themselves, or anything else in the room. :steamhappy:

I wonder... Do they earn combat XP along the way?

I just discovered a bug where my Tribesman will try to occupy comfortable chairs that they can't path to, so they'll stand idle at the closest point to the chair and create a pile-up until the chair is filled or removed.

The tribesmen stop renderimg but the backgound simulation of their work continues. I set people to craft 999 stacks of stuff and replenish stone/logs all the time and even 4000m away it still gets done. The game just saves on performance by not rendering them and tracking their position. The game does the same thing for all wildlife.and enemies. It all pops in a set distance around you.

I have a tribesman mining at my camp which is located next to a lake. They think it's fine to swim out into the lake and mine a node from the surface of the water and gut stuck doing that because they are not actually hitting the node. It would be nice if I could designate to ignore the water.

Also, a buddy of mine has his camp located about 100meters from mine and both of us have an issue where our tribesman randomly move to the others bonfire. Pretty sure they should be out of range or I wish I could lock them to my camp.

For the water mine part, as a temporary solution you can try to place a structure foundation on top of that particular node , or mine it and then place it (if it has collision issues) and it should stop that node from respawning and stop your guy from trying to mine it. I had a similar issue with a plant half growing in a rock, once i placed a foundation it disappeared and my guy stopped collecting it.
