Best Character Stats
Hey guys I've only been playing for a few hours now so excuse my newbie questions. I was curious for those of you further ahead. What do you determine to be the better or best character stats to have?

I'm not going ranged so that's off the table. I've been using Hammer mostly, Great Sword, and a little of the OP Pike. Not sure which one of these I will keep playing with. I know that's important. However if I am going to end up fighting with my NPC's later anyways is it better to just pump other stats like Stam or Inv?

Thanks in advance.

Max STR for hammer/great sword, but it's not stats you must looking at. You must looking at perks. I've found one warrior with hammer with auto healing on taking damage perk, -60% damage as companion, +75% weapon skills growing rate and -9% damage as flint tribe member. He was literally immortal until first boss ate him, lol.

When I tested in beta the weapon damage increasing stats did not work. So dont choose based on main weapon. Stamina increase and stamina cost reduction are great, invest atleast 1/3rd if not more of your points there. Physique really adds up later on, so its always good to have. And strength gives decent equip load which is nice. Production output on perception is great for dedicated crafters. Production speed on agility is not worth it, also attack speed does.not increase in a meaningful way.

Does the player stats also proc when controlling an NPC too?

I was kind of thinking things like Stamina would be very important because it can be used all the time, in every scenario. So if we are mainly fighting with our NPC's than I would want my character to have other bonuses.

Every character has their own stats.

Pick whatever you feel like.

Well ofc I'll end up picking what I want but I was curious on the more veteran players who were further. What their thoughts on the matter were. Like if they thought it was more important to dump all the stats into one category over another for some specific reason. A reason I would not know being newer.

Thanks for your input and taking the time to reply to me.

To me personally, Id say Physique is one of the best talents to dump your points in. My basic character has full physique (101 points lol) and is rocking 3600 health in Iron gear. I tried giving it to one of my tribesmates for comparison and they only had 2300. That extra health has DEFINITELY saved me time and time again from big hits (looking at you Vajra ape, with your stupid 2800 rock throws.) I am a dual blade user for the vast majority of my fights due to the bleed effect. (not counting machinery) it doesnt matter what damage you deal, the bleed effect is capped out at 200. So do some damage, block some, and let the bleedout do its thing.

However that's just my playstyle. I prefer being healthy over pure raw damage because I KNOW im going to screw up every so often in these fights, the extra health feels amazing as a safety net.
