The game is also designed on making use of your tribesmen. So in stead of sitting 15 min there and waiting for the aloe juice to be finished, you could also assign a tribesmen to do this or invest the same 15 minutes in hunting one for this job, so that you don't have to do this yourself anymore.
And last but not least, there are server settings for pretty much everything. So either look for a server with increased rates or if you play selfhosted, adjust the numbers as you need them. Nobody forces you to play on a official server with vanilla settings.

This game has more tweeks than any other game of this type that I have played.
OK I had not tried that but that just makes the ability to create the game of your choice even easier then. No idea what the op is upset over with all of the added options they gave us.
